Easter Sunday Scripture: Take Heart! I Have Overcome the World.
Happy Easter! He is Risen!
I knew I had to share this today because as I’ve been reading the Word this week preparing for Easter, one of my favorite passages of scripture popped up. I sat back, read the passage, and listened to “Take Heart” by Hillsong. It’s one of my favorite Hillsong songs and it just felt right to share it with you on this Happy Easter!
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
I love this because whenever I feel down or disheartened or like I can’t do anything – I read this passage.
Lyrics for Take Heart by Hillsong
There is a light
It burns brighter than the sun
He steals the night
And casts no shadow
There is hope
Should oceans rise and mountains fall
He never failsSo take heart
Let His love lead us through the night
Hold on to hope
And take courage againIn death by love
The fallen world was overcome
He wears the scars of our freedom
In His Name
All our fears are swept away
He never failsAll our troubles
And all our tears
God our hope
He has overcomeAll our failure
And all our fear
God our love
He has overcomeAll our heartache
And all our pain
God our healer
He has overcomeAll our burdens
And all our shame
God our freedom
He has overcomeAll our troubles
And all our tears
God our hope
He has overcomeAll our failures
And all our fear
God our love
He has overcomeGod our justice
God our grace
God our freedom
He has overcomeGod our refuge
God our strength
God is with us
He has overcome
What song do you love? What’s your favorite verse of scripture? What’s on your mind this week?
That’s a beautiful scripture and such a beautiful song. So many of the contemporary Christian songs speak so much to me. One of my favorites is “Who Am I” It has been such a comfort to me during so many dark times.
“Who Am I” is such a great song!! I think some Contemporary Christian music plays it safe – but when the song really grabs you with the lyrics or the music, you can’t go wrong. xoxo!
