I’ll be the first to admit that I do not take the time to do a full-face of makeup on a daily basis. Because the truth is, ain’t nobody got time for that. Or, I guess some people do, but I don’t. I mean, I love to do my makeup… I looooove playing around with makeup. I love trying different looks! I just don’t always have the chance to. BUT, when I do take the time to put my face on (which I’m getting better at actually taking the time), I tend to lean towards quick, easy, classic looks that can last me all day. (Examples here and here of past makeup tutorials I’ve done that show exactly what I’m talking about).
From the time Lilly wakes up and we’re going out for errands, or lunch, all the way till dinner time or even if I have any events or things to go to after Lilly goes to bed.
Well, I hit up my happy place, Target, to pick up some products from Neutrogena to create a really simple, easy, all day makeup look. I’ve used Neutrogena’s foundation, face wash, and eye makeup remover (and wipes!) for years… so I was excited to create a look around their products!
Anyway, here are the five products I picked up for my all day makeup look:
Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Watermelon | Neutrogena Nourishing Long Wear Makeup | Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blends Bronzer | Neutrogena Nourishing Eye Liner | Neutrogena Healthy Volume Waterproof Mascara
Now, here is my finished look. This whole look took five minutes… tops. Keep reading for a step-by-step tutorial. 🙂
First, start with a clean face and apply the Nourishing Long Wear Makeup with a makeup sponge.
Now, I’ve used Neutrogena’s foundation for years but haven’t ever used their long wear makeup. Overall I am really impressed with the wear of it. It’s definitely not full coverage, it goes on light almost like a BB cream, but it does a great job of just giving you an even canvas to work with.
Here’s my before and after with no makeup (left) and just foundation (right).
Next, take your eyeliner and line your waterline.
Then, with the eyeliner, line the outer half of your upper lid and then with the smudger end of the eyeliner, just smudge the product and blend it over the rest of the eye.
Next, fill in your eyebrows. To see how I fill in my eyebrows, click here.
Next, take any gold shadow and apply it all over the lid. Then, with a fluffy crease brush, take any matte brown eyeshadow and blend it into the crease as a transition shade. Blend both the gold and matte brown together. I do this AFTER the eyeliner in this look because I want the eyeliner to actually be subdued… I don’t want a super bold liner with this look.
Now with a fluffy blush brush, take your bronzer (or use your blush if you want) and apply it on the apples of your cheeks, then taking the excess product down the bridge of the nose and on the forehead. I love the Neutrogena matte bronzer because it’s easy to apply all over the face without looking like a big ball of shine or glitter or anything. It gives you just a natural glow, if you will.
Next, apply two coats of Healthy Volume Mascara. (Am I the only one that has trouble keeping my mouth closed when I put on mascara?) I got the waterproof formula. Now, I’ll be honest, I’m not sure how waterproof it actually is because it did smudge a little as the day went on. With that being said, however, I looooooove the brush of this mascara and it did give me some pretty awesome volume. It’s not my favorite mascara ever, but the brush is amazing.
Then, to complete the look, finish it off with a swipe of the Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick. It’s like a gloss, or something… but I got the watermelon color and it SMELLS and TASTES like watermelon. It’s certainly not a lasting color, BUT, it goes on smooth and gives a nice hint of color without being overbearing.
And here’s the finished look! Super simple and really wearable… and it will transition easily from day to night.
