February Stitch Fix Review (and the 7×7 challenge!)
It’s that time of the month – Stitch Fix review time! I actually got my February fix a little earlier than normal this time, but that’s okay. This fix was a “mixed bag of tricks,” but I really loved it overall. My stylist, Kimberly (who is amazing and totally rocks!), really listened to my requests and feedback (as per usual).
My “special requests” for this month’s fix were:
- I am loving the leather trend, and so I wanted to try some leather
- I wanted to try some coated denim
- I was looking for something edgy and trendy (I’m feeling dangerous, y’all)
- I needed a nice dress for my wedding anniversary
I really feeling like Kimberly delivered on my requests… while I didn’t keep everything, I did love what she picked out!
Without further adieu… here’s my February Stitch Fix review:
Level 99 “Charley Zipper Detail Coated Skinny Jean” – Size 14 – $128
Okay, so honestly, pictures do NOT do these coated jeans justice. They are amazing. I pulled them out of the box and loved them immediately. They are a deep purple color and they feel like pajamas. They’re stretchy and gorgeous. I feel so awesome in them. My husband is a BIG fan! 🙂 🙂 Needless to say, these were a keeper.
Yes, they are pricey, but I have wanted coated denim forever and these are so well made I knew they were worth the investment.
VERDICT: Keep!!
Renee C “Gillie Leopard Print Blouse” – Size XL – $58
Honestly, I was not thrilled about this top. I just didn’t love it… and after putting it on, I definitely didn’t love it. I just wasn’t feeling it. The shirt is comfy and I loved the cut, but I felt like the print wasn’t me… So I returned it.
VERDICT: Return
Kut from the Kloth “Eleni Faux Leather and Suede Vest” – Size XL – $54
I was SO pumped about this vest. I absolutely LOVED it out of the box and once I put it on I loved it even more. My husband was also a big fan…
The price point was right on and I knew that this was the perfect edgy, but versatile piece to add to my closet!
Verdict: Keep!
Brixon Ivy “Sheryl Metallic Dot Detail Blouse” – Size XL – $48
I liked this top out of the box but once I put it on, I just didn’t love it. It felt too boxy and I liked the shoulder detailing… BUT, I know I wouldn’t wear it by itself (I don’t love sleeveless things)…
So, it was a pretty simple “no” decision…
VERDICT: Return!
41Hawthorn “Atlas Asymmetrical Neck Dress” – Size XL – $78
So this month is our wedding anniversary and John and I are going away for our anniversary and I knew that I didn’t have anything to wear for a fancy date night out… I have NO fancy-ish dresses and so I specifically requested a classic dress that I could wear!
I LOVE the color cobalt blue… it is one of my favorite colors to wear, so I was so excited to see this dress Kimberly picked out for me.
Once I tried it on, I loved it. It is a flattering cut, it’s interesting, it’s classic, and it’s a dress that I can wear to multiple occasions…
So, I kept it!!
VERDICT: Keep!
So what do you think? Do you like the items I kept? Have you tried Stitch Fix yet? What have you gotten recently?
Now… get excited for the 7×7 Remix Challenge!
My girl Natalia from MaNouvelleMode and I are hosting a REALLY fun Instagram challenge starting MONDAY, February 9th… It’s a 7×7 Wardrobe Remix challenge!
How does the 7×7 Wardrobe Remix Challenge work?
- Pick out SEVEN items from your closet (we’re talking clothing items… shoes and accessories don’t count)
- Create SEVEN outfits from those seven items in your closet
- Post / share your outfits on Instagram each day for SEVEN days
- Use the hashtag #MaNouvelleMolly7x7
- Follow me @stillbeingmolly and Natalia @NataliaLSimmons
- Tag us in your photos so we can see the outfits!
After the seven days are over, we will be selecting one random participant and that participant will win a $50 gift card to a place of their choice!!
So, take the next few days to pick out your items, plan your outfits, and get to REMIXING!!!!!!
Who’s excited?!?!
I like the animal print! I’m glad I found your blog, also being a 14 I was worried about joining, but now am excited 🙂
I LOVE that dress on you! Great choice!
I just found your blog after googling Stitch Fix! I am expecting my first Fix soon. We have very similar body types, so I’m glad to see you love lots of your items! would you mind me asking what size you are? I am so nervous nothing is going to fit me. I’m a 14.
Hey Taryn! Thanks for the comment! I actually list the size of each item right next to the name of it and price above the pictures. I am a 14. 🙂
I loved the jeans and the blouse. They looked great on you!
jeal i asked for coated jeans and they said they didn’t have any!
So, can I ask a silly question? Are you supposed to use just one, or muiltiple of the seven items to “remix”? If it’s just one per day, it seems too easy? I’m struggling over here to get how this is supposed to work…
great question, Erica! It’s 7 clothing items made into 7 outfits. Not 7 individual outfits… you basically take like 3 pairs of pants and four shirts to make 7 outfits, or 1 dress, 3 shirts, 3 pants, etc. whatever you want. 🙂
Love the dress! I agree with your decisions!
I will take the 7×7 challenge. I do not have instagram so you can check on my blog http://mommatofourteens.blogspot.com/
That dress is stunning on you and I am swooning over that vest!
that dress looks SOOO good on you!! and love those pants!!

Molly, that dress is amazing on you! You look stunning 🙂 Ooh, I love a good remix challenge!!
Can’t wait!!
I should totally do this challenge…
The dress is gorgeous! I don’t love the animal print blouse either but I’m generally not a fan of animal print. May just have to participate in this 7×7 challenge and it really will be a challenge!!!
