What’s Your Me Time? & Link-Up!
“This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and PEOPLE StyleWatch® and InStyle® but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #Summer4Me http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV”
It’s pretty rare these days that I get actual “me time.” Let’s be honest, it just doesn’t happen. As selfish as is sounds, I have to be intentional about getting my “me time” in. As surprising as this may sound, I am actually very introverted and really garner my energy from time alone in the Word, reading a book, watching a movie, or flipping through the pages of fashion magazines.
I. Love. Fashion. Magazines. I always have.
Anyway, I’ve been traveling visiting family and one thing I look forward to whenever I get on a plane is picking up a couple of fashion magazines to read and get a little “me time” while I travel! Even that hour on the plane – you know, no WiFi, no cell signal, just flipping through a magazine, is my way of getting relaxing and getting inspired. And that’s not to mention relaxing by the pool or on the beach with my family!
BUT, before we left on our trip, I HAD to head to Target (aka: my happy place) and picked up all my trip necessities… including this month’s copies of People StyleWatch and InStyle Magazines. Which, by the way, right now you can save 20% OFF (!!) some magazines like PEOPLE®, InStyle®, PEOPLE® StyleWatch, and Us Weekly® by using the Target Cartwheel Digital Offer. Any other Cartwheel fans out there?! Also, you can receive 20% off special edition magazines. Both offers are available until 7/10/15 (while supplies last)!**
Another one of the ways I get my “me time” in, is spending time flipping through my style magazines like InStyle or People StyleWatch and getting some inspiration for a different outfit, a new trend I should try, seeing how celebrities rock a certain style, OR maybe I see an outfit that reminds me of something I’ve worn before or something I already have in my closet. I love it! It’s sort of my “escape,” where I take the time to go in my closet and put together something I wouldn’t have thought to try. Does anyone else love doing that, too?
It can be so easy to look at fashion magazines and think about all that we don’t have or all that we want or all that we wish we had. I actually love doing the opposite and looking at fashion magazines to see and appreciate what I already own! It makes me appreciate what’s already in my closet!
When I was looking through this month’s issues, I saw a lot of trends that reminded me of pieces I have in my closet and outfits I’ve already worn! I LOVE that.
Bright prints, textured shorts (one of my FAVORITE trends), printed denim, florals! So many awesome ideas gracing the pages giving me inspiration on pieces I can pull out and try to style in a different way… while also being totally content rocking the same outfit over and over again because I love it that much.
What about you? How do you get your “me time”? Do you love fashion mags like I do? What do you get your inspiration from?

Hi Molly, I love those gorgeous glossy women’s fashion magazines their aroma and glossy feel entices me to search for the latest editions. I especially crave for those giant September monthlies, love to feel them resting on my lap as I flip through their sweet scented pages dreaming as I snuggle up close to all those gorgeous pages.
I always love your bold colors and sweet smile! Thank you for hosting for us!
By the way, I started my own link up and it will be every Wednesday. Don’t forget to stop by! 🙂

I totally agree that looking through fashion magazines are a perfect way to get some “me time” and get inspired! I think people just have to realize you can get inspiration without doing an EXACT recreation of an outfit – just use it as a jumping off point to revamp what you have! 🙂
Feel free to link up an outfit post if you’d like!

I love fashion magazines – just to go to café and get a cup of great latté and think about glittering girly things.o)

I have been a long time subscriber of both magazines for a long time. Even though you can get them digitally, I still love flipping through magazines and pulling out inspiring looks!

Molly I’m totally with you on the magazines – I tried getting the digital versions for a bit but it’s just not the same as flipping through a glossy mag…! I too see them positively – getting inspiration rather than thinking “Oh I’m so depressed they’re all so perfect” – and anyway so many street styles are featured these days which is great 🙂
Thank you for hosting the linky! Have a wonderful week

I get my inspiration from Pinterest. I would love to read fashion magazines, but I don’t know which ones are best. I also want to try to keep what I read clean, and I don’t know which magazines are clean and which ones are not. Do you know of any good fashion magazines that are clean? I would love to get into fashion magazines! Do you have any ideas/tips?
Thanks for hosting this link-up!

Great post, thanks for sharing! I am definitely the same – some fashion magazine reading while traveling is definitely my me time! I also only let myself buy them when I am travelling, so it is a nice little bit of excitement to bring to what is otherwise usually a yucky day (who likes being crammed on a plane for hours on end?!)

I do the exact same thing! I’ve loved reading magazines like Health and Women’s Health lately. It’s great motivation for staying healthy. I also love to watch a show and paint my nails!

I hear you on not getting enough me time–I definitely don’t seem to get much either! I used to be a big magazine reader but somewhere along the line I stopped. I’d love to pick one up if I did have some down time though!
Love looking at fashion mags! Definitely one of my “me time” activities!
Thanks so much for featuring me! The third look is super cute, but they’re all adorable for vacay! Have a great week!
Love fashion magazines as well. These are all great looks. I absolutely love the 3rd look!
My me time is when I workout and work on my blog. I love sitting outside on a weekend morning flipping through magazines too! Love all of these looks, especially those floral pants!
