It’s no secret that I love makeup and it’s also no secret that as much as I wish I had all the time in the world to get ready… I just don’t. Sure, there are some days where I might miraculously have 20-30 minutes to get ready by myself and be able to do a full face of makeup (without toddler interruptions, of course), but if I’m being honest, I typically have 5-10 minutes TOPS to get myself ready. All the while, I more than likely have a sweet, yet impatient, toddler pulling at my pant leg. With that in mind, I have inadvertently given myself the daily challenge of finding ways to look awake and alive in a very short amount of time.
One of my all time FAVORITE drugstore makeup brands is Milani. I have always loved their products – they’re affordable, great quality, made in the USA, and get the job DONE! So, I wanted to show you guys (and this is for ANYONE who needs to get ready FAST, not just moms), a quick and easy “5-minute face” makeup tutorial using all Milani makeup products that you can find at your local CVS drugstore!
Just to give you a little sneak peek, here is the completed makeup look… and I do this look on the REGULAR and trust me when I say, it takes LESS than five minutes to do!
I wanted to include some gorgeous new products in the look, in addition to some of my old favorites from Milani, so I stopped at my local CVS to pick up what I needed before I set out to do this tutorial. CVS extra care bucks for the win!
And here are all the Milani products I used for this look… I’ll break down each one individually in the tutorial. I, admittedly, own way more Milani products than this, but when I’m in a hurry and have only a few minutes to do my makeup, I’m sticking with the BASICS. Ain’t nobody got time to highlight in a rush.
Let’s get to the makeup tutorial!
So, here’s the before. This is me… fresh faced… no makeup. Just. ME. I’m not saying I think I look awful, but, there’s just something about a little makeup that makes me feel human. You know what I mean? 🙂
FIRST… I ALWAYS start off by priming my eyes – EVEN if I only have a little bit of time, eye primer is KEY to making my eye makeup last all day and keeping it from creasing. I’d have to say, Milani’s eyeshadow primer is probably my FAVORITE eyeshadow primer of ALL TIME. This is likely my fourth or fifth tube of it, I love it that much.
Just use your fingertip to apply a tiny amount of eye primer all over the lid. I also do a little bit underneath my eyes.
Next, I take Milani’s Bella Eyes Gel Powder Eyeshadow in “Bella Sand” and I apply that just using my fingertips all over the lids and all the way up to the brow bone.
Then, I take the same type of eyeshadow in “Bella Chiffon” and, using my finger tips, apply that to the center of my lids and just underneath my eyebrows. This just helps to add some dimension to your eyes and a little bit of highlight. It’s a GREAT trick to help you look more alert and awake!
After applying eyeshadow, I like to line my waterline with Milani’s Supreme Kohl Kajal eyeliner in Blackest Black. I love the pigment on this eyeliner and how smoothly it glides on!
I NEVER leave the house without AT LEAST filling in my eyebrows. This Milani “Stay Put Brow” gel in Soft Brown is actually a new-to-me Milani product that I’ve been using for the last few weeks since I got it. I have to say, I’m REALLY impressed! I was nervous to use a brow gel as I’m normally a powder or pencil girl when it comes to filling in my brows. So far, I love how well the brow gel glides on and the brush is perfect for angling and getting those places in my brows that I tend to miss. I may decide to try a different shade next time, but I think the soft brown is good for me for now!
Next is arguably my favorite part… MASCARA. Mascara is another one of those things that I RARELY leave the house without having on. This is the Grandissimo Lashes Mascara in Black and the brush is MASSIVE! This mascara does need a couple of coats to get some oomph, but once you slather it on, you’re lookin’ GOOD.
If I’m doing a quick “need to get out the door” makeup look, I do NOT have time to do a lot of concealing or foundation. Those days when I’m in a rush, I use the Milani Even Touch Powder Foundation because it’s not full-coverage and it doesn’t take a lot of thought to apply. It’s very much a light coverage powder foundation that just gets rid of a little bit of redness and helps to even out my complexion without making me look overdone. It’s definitely not going to hide any freckles or dark circles or anything like that, but it gives just enough coverage for day-to-day wear.
So, I just applied the foundation all over using the sponge it came with. You could use a foundation brush, but if I’m in a hurry hurry, I will use what’s right in front of me.
Then comes blush. This is one of my ALL TIME favorite blushes. I’ve used it in makeup tutorials before! For real. It rivals some of the most expensive blushes I own and it costs less than $9! This is the Milani Baked Blush in “Luminoso.” It’s this GORGEOUS peachy-coral-pink shade with the SLIGHTEST bit of shimmer. It looks good on ANY skin tone during ANY time of year. It is seriously stunning! I have yet to find someone it doesn’t look good on… The pigment and finish is amazing.
So, I just take a blush brush and lightly apply some of the Luminoso to the apples of my cheeks to give me a nice, natural flush of color.
And last, but certainly not least, LIPS. Now, there are some days when I’ll just throw on some chap stick or lip gloss and call it a day. But then there are other days when I need a boost. I need a little something extra. And for me, a bold lip color ALWAYS does the trick and makes me instantly feel more confident and beautiful.
This is the Milani Color Statement Lipstick in “Brandy Berry” and it is the most beautiful deep purple, berry, wine color! It’s perfect for this time of year. I especially love doing a bold lip color when I keep my eye color subdued and neutral. This lipstick goes on really smooth and doesn’t leave my lips feeling overly dry.
And voila! That’s the completed look! Just a few steps, less than five minutes, and boom! You’re out the door!
And just a little “BEFORE AND AFTER” contrast for ya. 🙂
Super easy. Super quick!!
I hope you give this look a try! What Milani products have you tried before?
And, as a bonus, I’ve got an AMAZING giveaway for you guys! We’re giving away one $500 gift card to CVS and two $250 gift cards to CVS! How awesome is that? Good luck!

Gorgeous look! I love the wine color on your lips and how you kept your blush and eyeshadow subtle. I’ve never tried any Milani products before but I think I need to go pick a few up!
You look good with or without makeup. Those bold lips look gorgeous on you.
Molly I love this look – the bold lip and eyeliner suit you perfectly! You have gorgeous skin so it’s no wonder you don’t need to wear much foundation… I’m so glad you don’t cover up your freckles as they’re beautiful <3

You look gorgeous! I’ve been thinking that I need to formulate a 5 minute face to my day. NOT that I spend much time at all putting make up on every day. Most days it’s no make up. But I’d still like a little something. Love this, thanks for sharing and for the shout out! 🙂

Thanks for sharing this review. I’ve always wondered about this brand.
Most of my decorative cosmetics is from the drugstore. I only splurge on mascara, as it is the only thing I really use every single day.
Great tutorial, thanks for sharing your process.

I’ve never heard or seen this brand – thanks for the review!
