As I became more passionate about ethically made clothing, one area that I realized was extremely difficult to shop ethically was kids fashion. It’s so hard to find faire trade kids clothing, especially for babies and toddlers! BUT, that doesn’t mean they aren’t out there… in fact, the more research I do, the more amazing companies I am discovering. And so often, the pieces made by these fair trade kids clothing brands are so much more unique and beautiful than the stuff you find everywhere else.

I want to know that the clothing my kids are wearing was made by someone being paid a fair wage, has the freedom to speak out, is working in safe conditions, and that my kids clothes weren’t made by other kids. I want to know that love and care and heart was put into what we wear. 

Victoria Road has quickly become one of my absolute favorite fair trade kids clothing brands. I first introduced you guys to Victoria Road back in the fall, then I had Megan Brosterman (their founder) on my podcast, and featured one of their pieces on the blog a few weeks ago. I cannot say enough good things about this amazing brand.

Inspired and fueled by unbelievably beautiful richness and talent found in Pakistani fashion and craft, Victoria Road is a brand that discovers, supports and promotes designers, artisans, and passionate entrepreneurs who are creating modern, sophisticated fashion inspired by such a beautiful and vibrant culture. They collaborate with these talented creatives at their Fair Trade workshop in Lahore, Pakistan to produce beautiful and extremely well made clothing for women and kids.

In honor of Fashion Revolution week, I wanted to share this video with y’all that Victoria Road just released. It is a mini-documentary that follows Farina Naimat Ali, a 23-year-old emerging Pakistani designer, who is the lead designer behind Victoria Road’s ethical fashion label. My sweet Lilly girl is rocking some of Victoria Road’s newest spring designs for girls. Each piece is so beautiful, so special, so unique, and so well made. The fabrics are top of the line, the details in the embroidery and the stitching are second to none, but most of all, I love how Lilly feels in them.

She loves each piece so much and she kept telling me how much she felt like a princess in each dress and she kept screaming “I HAVE ELEPHANTS ON MY SHIRT” when she was wearing the sleeveless top. Her smile shines through so clearly!

Zero personality, this child… (hahah!!)

And even though these pieces are clearly on the “fancy” end of the spectrum, Lilly still can run and jump and play and ride her bike in them! I love that they’re beautiful but also keep her feeling like a kid!

If it isn’t already abundantly clear, I love Victoria Road. I love everything they stand for, everything they represent, and their own mission to change the way fashion is made and consumed. I can’t wait to share more about them in the next few months…
