The Best Ethically Made and Fair Trade Athletic Wear and Activewear
Since I am working out five to six days a week at Burn Bootcamp, I am finding myself wearing workout clothes way more than I ever have before. And I kept having to do laundry because I was running out of athletic wear to workout in. I have done a few Facebook lives and Instagram lives lately and one of the most common questions you guys have been asking me is, “Where do you find ethically made and fair trade athletic wear and activewear?” I have a BUNCH of brands listed in my Purchase with Purpose ethical brand directory, but I thought it would be helpful to share a few of my favorite ethically made and fair trade athletic wear and activewear brands.
Threads for Thought
Threads for Thought is, by and large, my favorite brand for ethically made athletic wear, workout gear, and athleisure. Their clothes are made out of recycled plastic! The quality is amazing, the customer service is great, and I love that they are so focused on sustainability and doing things right.
Outdoor Voices
Thoughtfully and sustainably made in the US, Vietnam, and China. Offering activewear, athleisure, workout gear, athletic wear and more.
Graced by Grit
Ethically and Sustainably Made in the USA – they offer workout clothing, activewear, athleisure, sun protective clothing, and yoga attire.
prAna
prAna is certified Fair Trade and has a commitment to only producing their clothing ethically and sustainably. They use recycled materials, organic cotton, hemp, etc. Their prints are great and I love the variety of activewear and athletic gear they have! They have men’s and women’s, too! I got John some men’s workout shorts from prAna for Christmas and he loves them.
Shift to Nature
Offering yoga attire, activewear, athleisure, athletic wear etc. Varying fabrics from sustainable bamboo and hemp to organic cotton to recycled materials and even vegan pieces.
Albion Fit
Ethically made athletic wear, workout leggings, and swim. Their leggings are ADORABLE.
Athleta
Athleta actually has a fair trade certified and sustainable line of their workout gear and athletic wear. So if you’re looking for something more “mainstream,” this would be good for you. I am not aware if their fair trade line is available in stores, but you can always ask!
So there you have it. Those are some of my favorite ethical and sustainable athletic wear brands. What do you think? Have you heard of any of these? Any that I should have included that I didn’t?

Thank you for sharing these! Athletic wear is never something I remember when I’m purposeful about buying ethically made clothing, so I will be bookmarking this to remember for the future.
