Hey everyone! I’m Krista from A Serious Southern Shopaholic and I’m guest posting for the wonderful Molly today. I hope to do her awesome blog some justice so just stick with me. This is the first time I’ve ever done this, so I’m pretty pumped.
Excuse the “in the mirror” photos. I live alone and have no one to snap up my outfits so the mirror and I have become good friends.
Anyways, I’m here to share with y’all my Top 5 Summer Essentials! Here we go:
1. White Pants
White pants are a summer staple. They scream the preppy/nautical/classic type attitude. I’ve never been a big fan of the not being able to wear white during parts of the year rule. So I’ve been breaking these bad boys out for quite sometime now. (As you can see from all of the pictures) My favorite are my Rock and Republics! They’re awesome, so go grab a pair if you don’t have some already!
2. Wedges
The thing I love most about wedges are the fact that they’re the beauty of high heels without the pain. Wedges for me are comfortable! I mean no girl actually likes the pain of wearing high heels every night but you just can’t resist the way they make your legs drop 2 sizes in those skinny jeans or how your leg muscles show up instantly and decide to stay for the night. But wearing heels out and about at night or even during the day can be to dressy and becomes a death sentence for your feet. That’s where wedges come into play. With jeans, skirts, dresses and shorts (my favorite). I actually wore this combo out last night. Wedges can be found anywhere. These happen to be from Target (my obsession) and something similar can be found here.
3. High-Low Dress
I have recently found my love for high-low dresses! I work at a little boutique in Lexington and found this little number. (Both dresses are actually high-low and also from the same store!) A high-low dress is short in the front and longer in the back. Like a better version of a mullet! You have to find what lengths work for you, but once you do, you’ll be in love! You can check out a lot of high-low dresses here!
4. Maxi Dresses
When I think of summer I think of maxi dresses. Is that weird? I think they are such a wonderful creation that makes a effortless yet fashionable look! You literally just have to throw on one thing and you’re ready for the day. If that doesn’t make your heart flutter, I just don’t know what will. It’s hard for me to find a maxi I like, but when I do… oh man. I find myself wearing it everyday! Lunch, out with friends, running errands, anything! You can find my second dress here!
5. J. Crew Bubble Necklace
I’m sure you’ve seen, drooled over and bought this necklace! It’s one of my favorites and is SUCH a cute necklace that makes any boring outfit fashion forward and fun! You’ll fall in love the moment you put it on, and amazingly, it GOES WITH EVERYTHING! Crazy! If you’re like me and don’t have $150 to drop on a necklace, go on over to ILY Couture on etsy (where mine are from) and check out her fun colors!
So that is that! My Top 5 Summer essentials! Thanks again to Molly for letting me guest post, she’s awesome!
