Honorary Blogiversary + Favorite Outfits of 2012

Now, although I’ve been blogging for over five years, when I made the switch from WordPress.com to my self-hosted WordPress.org site as you see now, I somehow lost all my previous archives. This blog only has about four years or so on it… (I did not know what I was doing back then. At all. Heck, I still barely know what I’m doing). So, I’m making today my honorary blogiversary. I just know it was sometime in 2007 that this thing was born.

Anyway. I’ve come a long way in five+ years of blogging. This blog has seen me through good times and bad times. Job losses and job gains. Moves. Marriage. The whole works. And I like that. If I want this blog to be a true representation of me, then I want it to represent ALL of me. And I’ve changed over time. So, naturally, my blog has changed, too.

But, I never would have, in a million years, thought it’d become what it’s become. And I love it. I love sharing my life, my faith, my successes, my struggles, and my attempts at fashion with you guys. And I love that you guys come back day after day and read it. It seriously means the absolute world to me.

I mean, look at this – my FIRST outfit post photo compared to my last outfit I posted yesterday:

still being mollyIronically, or coincidentally, that first outfit photo was taken in an Old Navy dressing room. The outfit photos from yesterday were taken in the parking lot BEHIND Old Navy. Total coincidence. Not planned, yet still rather comical.

Anywho. I’m rambling, per usual.

I thought, since we’re nearing the end of the year, and since today is my honorary blogiversary, and a lot of you readers may be newer readers and haven’t been around here for a while, I thought I might as well share some of my favorite looks from 2012!   8. Happy honorary blogiversary! When I look back and see some of my early posts I have the same reaction as yours to your bubble wrap post. And that is really funny that you happened to be behind an Old Navy after being in the Old Navy for your first one! How fun! Do you like being on WordPress? I’m thinking about switching from blogger to wordpress but am afraid of losing lots.

  9. Happy Blogiversary! I love all of your favorite outfits-especially the more recent one with the lace dress and leather accents… and the older gold shorts. Who wouldn’t want a pair of shorts like that!

  12. girl! you have such great style! i need your fashionista ways! haha. i get so lost in this area! also, if you EVER need photos taken of your super cool style for some of your posts, i would LOVE to! just lemme know! 🙂 and if i had to pick a favorite dress, it’d be the lace with the leather jacket! LOVE IT! 🙂

  14. I like all your outfits, but the outfit I could see myself wearing would be the jeans and red cowboy boots.
    The blogiversary of my current blog is 2/27/2012. I started blogging 6/15/2008. But that blog was not public the whole time and I didn’t really write it for an audience. I’m not really writing this one for an audience, either, but I am more aware that my story can touch others’ stories so it is public. I enjoy blogging, though I’ve not built a large community it’s been fun to get to know a couple people through blogging. Like you, lady.

  15. HAPPY BLOGIVERSARY! Wow, you’ve been at it awhile… I love that you’ve really used this blog as an opportunity to reflect yourself… not just how you want to be seen. Quite honestly, it’s allowed me to learn more about you as my friend, too! 🙂 You are amazing!

    PS – of those you posted, I like the outfit with the black bubble necklace and black biker-esque jacket the most…but it’s honestly hard to choose!!

I’m glad it’s your blogiversary because that means you have tons of posts for me to look through that I have missed out on, since I just fell into the blogging world a couple of months ago!! I love the last look with the leather jacket and chevron shirt. It’s probably my favorite, followed by the lace skirt outfit and the belted blazer outfit. SO SO cute! All of them 🙂 Thanks for blogging, yours is my favorite!

  27. Wow, five years! That takes a lot of dedication and how cool that you have all of those posts to look back on, it’s like a digital scrapbook. (Which I guess is sort of the point!) That’s really exciting, congratulations! 🙂 It’s really fun to take a quick look back through in your post here, that chambray shirt and lace skirt is still one of my favorite outfits of yours!

I’m actually not sure when my original blogiversary is because somewhere along the line, I lost all of my archives too… I do know that my earliest entries dated November 1997, so I consider that my blogiversary month. Interestingly, I discovered that yesterday (December 26) was my six year Twitter anniversary.
