Cobalt + Chucks + Random Thoughts
No, but for real, a belt is a girl’s best friend… just ESPECIALLY when you’re pregnant. A high-waisted belt on a simple jersey dress like this (or any dress, for that matter) help to give you a flattering shape and figure. {{Dress: Old Navy Maternity (non-maternity version)
{{Shoes: Converse
{{Belt: Target
{{Bracelets: Stella + Dot // Southern Charm Apparel
Some thoughts for the day:
- I love this dress. I caught it when it was on sale for $10 and now I’m kicking myself for not getting it in every color. It’s the most comfortable thing ever.
- This nice weather has done serious wonders for my mood. I have seriously been so relaxed by the sunshine and warmer temperatures. I can eat outside, I can lay in the hammock, I can walk the dogs… I don’t ever want it to go away.
- I am really going to need to invest / stock up on some more neutral flats. As in shoes. My feet hurt so badly in, like, everything, that I think wedges or heels are pretty much out of the question until after the baby arrives.
- Husband and I are really loving the show Revolution – I really hope it doesn’t get cancelled. Does anyone else watch Revolution? Anyone else a fan?
- With the arrival of warm weather, I love spending an afternoon or an evening on the hammock reading a good book. BUT, I need some good books to read. I PREFER a good memoir / non-fiction, but I do, occasionally love a good fiction book. SO, with that being said, what are some good books you’ve read recently?
- I love cupcakes.
That is all.

2. I hear ya on the flats.

thank you so much, katie! it is an AMAZING dress!
We love Revolution. It’s one of those shows that I worry about though too… like V, we loved it, apparently not enough other people did so it got cut before we knew what was going to happen next. Or Flash Forward. The WORST cancellation for me was absolutely American Dreams. That was before I had to share the TV with my husband, though 🙂
i know, i am so nervous that it’s going to get cancelled. I loved Flash Forward, too!! here’s hoping it stays on!
You look great pregnant! I can’t wait to rock maternity clothes!(when I get there of course haha. Have to find someone first!)

I could just squeeze you. You are adorable.
aw <3 you, lins!
I agree with Defending Jacob, The Storyteller, and Unbroken (emotional read, but worth it). I also loved Gone Girl, crazy book and even crazier ending but the mind of the writer is amazing! Glad the warm weather is doing wonders for you! Though I’m afraid Spring got lost and she is never coming back 🙁
Ah! I have heard such good things about Gone Girl! Definitely checking it out.
Love those chucks!
I just read Defending Jacob by William Landay and was hooked. Also loved the new Jodi Picoult, The Storyteller.
thank you so much, kate! i will definitely check those out!
Hi Molly–
Let me start by saying that your blue dress looks absolutely adorable on you! It is super flattering and looks cool and comfortable…I’m heading over to the ON site right after I post this! 😉
I happen to read a lot of books–I guess that’s what happens when you’re on a train to and from work everyday. 🙂 So I am always happy to give suggestions. Have you ever read Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand? If not, you would love it. It is a true story that reads like fiction. It is just an unbelievable story about the power of the human spirit. The fact that you also get to witness the power of Christ’s redemption and love in Louis Zamperini’s life makes it that much more poignant and enjoyable.
I might also recommend some of John Hart’s books. He writes thrillers, but they have a great literary quality to them and a lot to sink your teeth into. It might help to know all his books are set in North Carolina! 😉 My favorites by him are The Last Boy and Iron House (his latest.) They can be a little bit graphic at times, but overall, I have found the storytelling and plots to be more than enough to make up for it!
As always, love your sweet little blog! God bless, and I’m so glad to hear you’re feeling better.
thank you so much, melissa!!!!
and i have not read those books but I have heard awesome things – I will definitely put those on my to-read list! thank you so much for the suggestions!!
you look great – and yes, a belt – life saver – a girl’s best friend, prego or not!
thank you so much, girl!
LOVE that dress. So cute on you!
I really loved The Glass Castle and Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls. They are intense (the first more so than the other), but really REALLY good memoirs. It opened my eyes to the way that some children grow up, since most of the people I know had normal parents. Highly recommend!
thank you so much, laura!! and that is awesome – i knew i liked you – The Glass Castle and Half Broke Horses are my FAVORITE books. SO AMAZING. I have read them like 50 times.
yes, a belt is a pregnant lady’s best friend 🙂 I wear one practically every day!
Have you read Bringing Up Bebe? I highly recommend it…and listened to it on audio cd which was fun since they had French accents!
thank you SO much for the book suggestion! i will definitely check it out!!
I know I already said it but I LURVED this outfit on you…….. Cutest maternity outfit everrrrrrr!!!!!
Brooke @ what2wear
<3 you!!
Molly…cutest outfit EVER! Seriously – love the blue stripes, love the yellow belt, love the Chucks…and you are glowing! Laying in a hammock sounds heavenly 🙂

The Other Side of Gray
annie you are the sweetest. thank you so much, girl!
I haven’t read it yet but I heard Tina Fey’s book was great and very funny! I loved Jenny McCarthy’s books. You could read them in order or just read Belly Laughs- very funny and fast easy read!
I have yet to read Tina’s book – I REALLY need to add that to my list!! thank you so much, jodi!
Molly~ you are super cute and I have become a huge fan of your blog! My husband and I love the show Revolution too and I prefer cookies to cupcakes :o) Unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to read lately but I go through those cravings for a good book every once and a while… usually on my summer break. So I will probably hijack some of the titles left from your readers to put on my list too. Oh- and that dress is awesome!
~Cricket
thank you so much, cricket!!
I am mad for belts. I have them in skinny, wide and all sorts of colors. I love how they define your waist.
Alice

me too!!! thank you so much, alice!
I’ve started loving belts lately too. They really do give you definition.
I loved “Two Kisses for Maddy” by Matt Logelin… but you will definitely need tissues. I’ve also heard good things about Kellie Hampton’s “Bloom,” which is on my list to read. Both of those are bloggers, so you might’ve heard about them or read their books already.
they are the best!!
and thank you so much for the book suggestions!!
You look gorgeous! I absolutely love this shade of blue on you.
thank you so much, grace!
