I am FULLY aware that we are in the dead of winter. In fact, as I type this, “snowmageddon” 2014 is hitting us here in North Carolina. With that being said, I am fully aware that my outfit is very much a spring outfit. Is there some kind of fashion rule that you can’t wear pink and green and purple and orange and ALL THE COLORS in the winter? If so, I believe in my heart of hearts that THAT is a rule that should be broken.
I am a firm believer that if it’s dreary outside, then that is just all the more reason to put on an outfit that makes you feel happy and bright and springy and fun. AM I RIGHT?! Right.
My totally awesome husband got me this Lilly Pulitzer top for Christmas and I’ve worn it a couple times a week since then. I am in love with it. The fit is perfect. The colors are perfect. The print is perfect. It’s soft. It’s beautiful. I love it. Can you tell that I love it? I was also so proud of him that he picked it out all by himself. Seriously! I mean, it’s no secret how much I love Lilly Pulitzer (obsessed, is a word that comes to mind)… but the fact that he went INTO the store and picked it out because he knew I’d like it – it really just meant a lot to me! I know that might sound silly or materialistic, but I swear it’s not.
Anyway, so while the rest of the country is experiencing SAD (seasonal affective disorder), I’m experiencing… uhhh… awesome – because I’m gonna wear bright, springy colors and I don’t even care. 🙂
What about you? What do you do to combat the winter blues? What is your go-to pick-me-up?

The hubs did and awesome job and I love your attitude to shake the winter blues!
Go girl! 🙂
YES! I absolutely love this! It’s such a nice change from the drab cold-weather clothes I’m seeing (and wearing myself)! That top is so beautiful and you look phenomenal!
OMG, you look stunning! Hubby has stellar taste (obviously)!
LOVE this outfit!
Nothing is a quicker mood boost than a colorful top in the winter–you look so fabulous!
I just LOVE this bright top. I swear Lilly prints are instant mood boosters! That lipstick shade looks so great on you too!
As always Molly, you look great. (What?! I though we locked the door! How did a guy get in here???)
Just wanted to share my agreement about today’s post. You know I’m a bow tie aficionado and this time I love pairing a Spring-ish tie with a colored or patterned shirt.
Thanks so much, Molly, for sharing your Sidon, wit, and warmth. But most of all, your heart. II Tim. 1:13
Oh Molly you look stunning!! What a gorgeous top! I don’t have any Lily pieces, but I think that one will go on my bday wish list!! We are having a terrible winter too — snow day number 8 for my kiddo and temps not getting above negative 5. It is awful! Stay bright!! Susan
Haha. I am going to choose to experience awesome too! Beautiful top. Hubby did good!
