HOW TO: Clean Leather Cowboy Boots (or ANY leather item) with Leather Honey
If you’ve been reading this blog for any length of time, you probably know how much I LOVE my cowboy boots. Cowboy boots are pretty much my favorite type of footwear… in addition to TOMS. TOMS and cowboy boots are probably neck and neck for first place when it comes to my ranking of footwear.
Anyway.
My husband also shares my love for cowboy boots. Heck, we both wore cowboy boots when we got married. Well, since we both wear our boots ALL. THE. TIME. they tend to get really scratched up and beat up and worn. They’ve needed to be polished and cleaned up for A WHILE. Like, LONG overdue.
A friend of mine asked me if I’d ever heard of Leather Honey and I hadn’t… so I checked them out. Then, the fab folks at Leather Honey wanted me to see for myself and try it out for myself and so they sent me their leather cleaner and leather conditioner! The bundle pack also came with a lint-free cloth and paintbrush.
Now, obviously I used the Leather Honey on my cowboy boots, but it works on ANYTHING leather. Leather bags, jackets, seats, anything! If you’re going to invest in something that’s a bit pricey like leather, you’re gonna wanna take good care of it!
Well, rather than walk you through step-by-step here on the blog, I wanted to actually SHOW you guys and walk you guys through the process so you could see exactly how I did it! Check out this video I made:
And here’s a close-up of the befores and afters – the Leather Honey seriously did an AMAZING job! They just look so much more vibrant.
Look at how BRIGHT my FAVORITE red boots from Boot Barn are now!
Here are my husband’s boots:
These are his oldest / dingiest boots and while they’re still a little scuffed, you can see a big improvement:
Overall I was SUPER impressed and now I want to clean ALL THE THINGS. It isn’t a quick process, so if you need to do it for an event or something, make sure you give yourself enough time. You need at least a day because the conditioner needs to dry overnight. 🙂 You can find out more about Leather Honey here.
What about you? Have you heard of Leather Honey? Do you have any secrets or recommendations for taking care of your leather items?
*Thank you to Leather Honey for sponsoring this post! I really did try it out on all of my (and my husband’s) leather cowboy boots and fell in LOVE with the product. All opinions are 100% my own.
Ummm yes to clean cowboy boots! Always. Do you want to come over & clean all of mine now too ; ) Kidding…. maybe.
I have some leather boots I bought last year that need a good cleaning! I may have to try some Leather Honey, looks like it worked wonders on your boots!
This stuff looks amazing! I’m going to try it for sure. I have a ton of boots (it’s really a problem… Lol) and this stuff will be great for them. Thanks for sharing! Xo.
Oh my goodness, I want to eat off those boots! But seriously, sending this to my cowboy boot loving mother now!
