“Pop of Purple” BA Star Natural Eyeshadow Palette Review & Makeup Tutorial
*I received the BA Star Natural eyeshadow palette for review as a part of the BrandBacker review program. No other compensation was provided and all opinions are 100% honest and my own! 🙂
I’m back with another makeup tutorial! Woot! Woot! I’ve been on a big kick recently of playing around with different looks. I used to play around with makeup ALL the time and then I got into the habit of basically wearing my makeup the exact same way for about two years. And I don’t know, within the last, oh, say six months or so, I’ve just had fun trying new things when it comes to makeup.
I think, honestly, it’s because I’ve been so limited in my wardrobe that makeup has become more of a creative outlet for me than it has been in the last few years. If that makes sense.
Anyway. I was recently sent the new BA Star Natural eyeshadow palette to review and test out and create a look with. BA Star makeup has traditionally been for the theater or cheer and dance people – so the makeup is SUPER pigmented and bold.
BUT, just because it was originally *intended* for the stage and for the lights, doesn’t mean it can’t work for the everyday. I love bold makeup and I love eyeshadows that have a strong pigment. There’s actually nothing that annoys me more with an eyeshadow than when I have to really WORK to get the color on my eyelids.
Here is the palette with swatches:
This is the look I created. It’s a natural look on top with a fun pop of purple underneath the eyes. This look is ESPECIALLY good for those with green or hazel eyes. I have green / hazel eyes and whenever I wear purple eyeshadow (or even purple clothing) my eyes just look SUPER green.
Also, I’ll call it out… it kinda makes me giggle that you can see my camera in the reflection of my pupils. Does that make anyone else giggle? No? Just me?
I’ve gotta work on looking less awkward in these up close makeup shots.
I’m also wearing my new FAVORITE lip color combination!
I hope you like the look and I hope you enjoy the tutorial! Check it out.

LOVE this, you look awesome!
Loved this video! You look gorgeous!
Wow! You look GORGEOUS! What a perfect look on you! This palette has some great colors!
I actually gasped when I saw the first picture – this look is absolutely gorgeous!! I’m completely with you, give me an insanely pigmented product or forget it, ain’t nobody got time to build color! How did this eyeshadow hold up throughout the day?
Thanks Kate!! It held up SO well! I was so impressed. I put it on in the morning and by the evening it had barely faded. If at all. It also didn’t crease. I was seriously impressed.
