Swapdom!

I am REALLY excited to tell you guys about SWAPDOM! I just learned about Swapdom a few weeks ago and I’ve been having so much fun playing around with it.

SO, what is it? Well, I’m sure when you were in third grade you did some swapping… you know, you had a snack pack and your friend Kelly had some string cheese. But, you didn’t want the snack pack, you wanted the string cheese. And Kelly didn’t want the string cheese, she wanted the snack pack. So, what did you do? You swapped. Everyone wins.

That’s traditional swapping, for you.

Swapdom is like that, BUT, for grown ups. AND, it’s not 1-on-1 swapping.

What do I mean?

Okay, here’s an example… I have a Lilly Pulitzer dress that I no longer wear and I’m looking to get rid of. I’m LOOKING for a new dress for a wedding I’m going to this summer. Well, say someone has posted on Swapdom a GORGEOUS dress, in my size, that would be PERFECT for a wedding I’m going to… but that person doesn’t need my Lilly Pulitzer dress. That’s okay. Someone else is looking for my Lilly Pulitzer dress, so they get it… I get the dress I’m looking for, and the person who posted the dress I’m looking for needed some shoes that someone else posted. Have I TOTALLY confused you yet? 

Swapdom is GROUP swapping! Everyone wins. I post an item for swapping, someone else gets it, I get what I need, just pay for the shipping for my item, and we’re good to go. Someone else will pay for the shipping for the item you have posted to swap… so it basically becomes a wash.

I’m ESPECIALLY excited about Swapdom for KIDS stuff. I’ve been looking for a couple specific toys for Lilly now that she’s into EVERYTHING and loving playing with toys… and I even found some of my FAVORITE Aden + Anais bamboo swaddles up for swap… so I’ve put those requests in on my Swapdom account, posted some items I’m willing to swap, and letting Swapdom do the work.

It’s really easy to get started, you just create your account, request some items you want, post some items you’d be willing to swap for the items you are requesting, approve your swap, ship your item, track your item and review your item. And you’re good to go. It’s really cool. It’s just a great way to get what you’re looking for without having to spend money! And you know I am ALL about saving money around here.

I’ve JUST posted my first items up for Swap on Swapdom this week and so I’m really excited to get my swap on, if you know what I mean. While it is a little tedious to get it going at first and not exactly “immediate” – I love that it is basically free. While you pay for the shipping for the item you want, the other person pays for the shipping for the item they want and thus, you get your money back. Know what I mean?
