The other day I was talking with some friends about our favorite colors vs our favorite colors to wear. An extremely riveting conversation, I realize. However, it really was kind of interesting to really think about colors that we like to wear or we feel compliment us versus our “favorite color.”
I mean, for me, my favorite color has always been pink, but I have found lately that I’m really drawn to wearing blues and purples and I feel like those colors compliment my skin, eyes, and hair the best. Not that I don’t like to wear pink, I just don’t think it’s “my color” – if that makes sense.
I’m a wee jealous of people who can just wear ANY color and it looks great on them. I am not one of those people. There are certain colors that just look awful on me. Beige, some oranges, and some yellows just totally wash me out or make me look like a ghost. It all depends on the shade for me.
But, in general with blues – whether it’s royal blue, Carolina blue, navy, etc. – blues compliment me well and I feel confident in that color.
And I love putting outfits together with pops of my favorite color to wear here and there.
This outfit is absolutely one of my favorites and just feel like it screams “Molly.”
What about you? What’s your favorite COLOR and what’s your favorite color to WEAR? Are they the same or different? Are there any colors you wish you could wear but don’t feel like they compliment you?
I can certainly relate to this idea, Molly! My favorite color is purple (especially plum and dusty purples!) but I literally own ZERO purple clothing items… Instead, I tend to wear lots of blues and coral! I feel like they look best on me. I also own primarily neutral pieces, and blues/coral look great with basically any neutral color. That way, I get the most versatility and mix-and-match options for what I have 🙂
Love this skirt on you! So chic.
