Interview with a Stitch Fix Stylist!
Y’all know my undying love for Stitch Fix. I cannot say enough good things about this company. Not only are the clothes gorgeous and amazing, but the customer service and experience are second to none. The people who work for Stitch Fix are TRULY some of the most genuine, thoughtful, down-to-earth people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and talking to!
This company is legit. For real.
Well, ever since I started receiving Stitch Fix boxes and after my travels to the Stitch Fix HQ and “hizzy,” I’ve had these burning questions I’ve wanted to ask a Stitch Fix stylist!
I was SO pumped to find out that I was one of three bloggers chosen to interview a stylist! Woop!!
Check out my interview with Daniela! Listen closely, maybe Daniela is your stylist! 🙂 I hope you enjoy the interview.
Interview with a Stitch Fix Stylist: Daniela
1. How did you get into being a Stitch Fix stylist? Have you always been interested in fashion?
I started getting into fashion after I graduated from high school and started college. While studying for my degree in Apparel Design & Merchandising, I made a friend who worked for Stitch Fix as a personal stylist, and she encouraged me to apply. The rest is history!
2. What’s the first thing you consider when you’re getting ready to style?
I try to paint a picture so I can get a sense of what her day-‐to-‐day life might be like. Is she a student? Does she work? What does she do! Taking her lifestyle into account is so important because I really want to make sure that I’m sending items that make sense for her wardrobe and life!
3. What do you wish you could ask when you’re styling?
I always wish that I could ask for more specific details! For example, if a client requests a dress to wear to a wedding without any further elaboration, I wish I could find out more. Is the wedding indoors or outdoors? Daytime or evening? The more I know the better.
4. What’s the most important thing to know when setting up your Style Profile?
I think it’s really important to convey what you are looking to get out of Stitch Fix. Some people are looking to do a complete revamp of their wardrobe starting with closet staples, & other are just looking for an item or two to change up their style. It’s incredibly helpful to communicate this information with your Stylist!
5. What’s your favorite trend you’re seeing this fall?
I’m in love with the 70’s-‐inspired trend we’ve been seeing this fall! It feels so fun, fresh, and a little bit glamorous. You can try a loose-‐cut embroidered top with a nice wide leg jean & feel instantly updated and on trend for fall!
Stitch Fix is seriously the best! I loved reading this interview and getting an inside scoop on what it’s like to be a stylist. I’ll definitely keep in mind to be more specific in my requests in the future!
I never thought of being super specific about what I was going to do if I mentioned that I wanted something for an event. My last/second fix was much better than my first, as I think most people have seen. I mentioned that I was going on a cruise and I should’ve mentioned to where and what kind. It may have helped my stylist pick out some even better items. Good to know!
It’s interesting to know that she wishes she could get more details. Maybe they’ll add soemthing like that in the future!
