Amos’s Music Themed Nursery Reveal & Link Up
I’m so excited to finally be sharing Amos’s music themed nursery with y’all!
As y’all know, just like the first time, we waited to find out the gender of our baby until he was born! So, we challenged ourselves to come up with a gender neutral themed nursery. When John and I were trying to come up with an idea, we were trying to keep it unique! We loved Lilly’s Kenya /Africa themed nursery, but we wanted something totally different. I won’t go into the long story of how we landed here… but we eventually came up with the idea of a music-themed nursery!
We were definitely WAY behind this time and the nursery was really coming together at the 11th hour. In fact, it wasn’t even done when Amos was born. Which ended up working out for the best because then we were able to put some cool Amos-specific decor in the room after he was born!
The nursery still isn’t 100% done, if I’m being honest. There are a few more things I’d like to do… but for now, this is about as good as it’s going to get! BUT, we LOVEEEE the way it turned out!
I hope you enjoy it!
This is the one part of the room that is definitely not totally complete… We need to refinish / repaint the bookshelf (it was actually John’s bookshelf when he was a kid), and we need something else on the wall here, but honestly… I don’t know what we want to put there yet. So, needless to say, this little “nook” of the room is still very much a work in progress.
This is the verse of scripture that was part of the inspiration for Amos’s name… so it felt fitting to put it on the wall of his room!
I am totally in love with this little mini-gallery wall of art from Minted! It came out so cute.
The little customized Guitar Case print with Amos’s birth information on it is totally my favorite.
Guitar Case Print: artist Heather Francisco
Guitar Picture: artist Karen Kaul
Piano Picture: artist Poppy A
The paint color in the room is “Tame Teal” by Sherwin Williams. I LOVE this color!
The guitar is John’s and in the frame is the guitar chords to Like Jesus Does by Eric Church which was our wedding song. Below it is the picture of Eric Church watching our first dance video… read the story behind it here.
These records on the wall were my mom’s records. That’s the original Beatles’ Abbey Road record, Jimi Hendrix, The Moody Blues, and Iron Butterfly.
How cute is that custom “Hello World, It’s Me, Amos!” book? A friend gave that to us as a gift and I love it!
Amos has received so many thoughtful gifts from friends and family. I love his embroidered blankets!
This glider. You guys. It is AMAZING. So, so comfortable. Like 10,000,000x more comfortable than the one we have in Lilly’s room. It’s also ADORABLE and I love that it swivels and turns and rocks. I spend so much time in this chair! Plus, the grey chevron is the perfect neutral print to add to the room!
This dresser was a MAJOR score I got off a local buy/sell page. I saw it and immediately fell in love with it but the original listing price was way too high for our budget. Long story short, we ended up getting this dresser for a RIDICULOUSLY amazing deal and I love it and it is perfect in every way.
When we were thinking of cool things to do in the nursery, I turned to John and said, “What if we put records all over the ceiling?” He thought I was crazy, but I just told him to trust me. I’ve seen other rooms where the ceiling is painted or decorated and I wanted to do something like that in our nursery!
SO, I went to a local thrift store and just bought a bunch of different records and we affixed them to the ceiling and it came out PERFECT. I absolutely LOVE how the records on the ceiling totally transformed the room!
The crib is the Ikea SUNDVIK crib and we snagged it for a crazy awesome deal off a local buy/sell page!
Those feet though. <3
That’s our music-themed nursery! We love the way it turned out. There’s certainly a few more things here and there we will do to it to make it feel “complete,” but let’s be honest… it’s always a work in progress. Right? 🙂
What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts on what we should do in the “nook” that isn’t totally complete. Any ideas for wall decor or something like that?
