Fashion for Good Friday | Join My “Purchase with Purpose” Facebook Group!

I have been wanting to do this for quite some time and FINALLY got around to actually doing it… I created a Facebook group called “Purchase with Purpose | Spreading Dignity Across the Globe” (that last part I took from inspiration that my friend Emily gave me…).

What is the group, exactly?

Purchase with Purpose is a group meant to be a safe place for people to ask questions, share resources, information, etc. about being intentional with our purchases. It’s a safe space for anyone and everyone who is even remotely interested in learning more about companies that are fair trade, manufacture their goods ethically, are doing good around the world, or are just “doing things right” in their practices.

Look, I want to say up front… I am NOT perfect at this by any means! Purchasing “fair trade” or “ethically” in every category is HARD and, frankly, highly unattainable for most of us. It’s just the reality of the world we live in. I’m not saying it’s not possible, but for the average Joe or Jane, it’s hard!

And Lord knows I don’t get this right all the time, but it’s something I’m just genuinely passionate about and try to make the best decisions I can and be as informed as possible when it comes to where I’m spending my dollars. And over the years, I’ve wished for a place where I can just ask others who are passionate about the same things the questions that I want to know!

“Where can I find a great pair of ethically made jeans?”

“What about swimwear? Anyone know of a great place to buy ethically made swimwear?” 

“What’s your favorite way to shop ethically on a budget?”

Etc. etc. etc.

I’ve always wanted to be able to talk with other men and women about stuff like this!

Things the “Purchase with Purpose” group is NOT:

• Exclusive
• Boring 🙂
• Judgemental

Things the “Purchase with Purpose” group IS:

• Fun
• Open
• Welcoming
• Non-judgemental
• Fun
• Did I mention fun?

Over time I will be adding more and more directories, resources, information, etc.! It’s very much in the infancy stage right now. 🙂

I JUST started it and have just started small with adding a few of my friends who I know are passionate about this kind of stuff… and I’d love for you to join me!
