Fashion for Good Friday: Elegantees
Today’s Fashion for Good Friday feature is about a brand that I absolutely adore. I don’t just love them, I adore them.
I was first introduced to Elegantees over a year ago when I wore one of their shirts in a photoshoot for The Root Collective. The moment I put that buttery soft, ridiculously amazing shirt on, I fell in love. But the moment I learned about the heart, soul, vision, and purpose behind the name on the shirt? At that moment I was humbled. Elegantees isn’t a brand with a bunch of cute basic tops and dresses… they’re a brand that’s working to truly make an impact.
Every item from Elegantees is custom designed in their studio in New York City, and then hand crafted by a woman who has been rescued out of the horrific sex trade in Nepal. Tens of thousands, into the hundreds of thousands of women and young girls are trafficked in Nepal every year. It’s a horrific reality that so many women are facing right now. And sure, one person or one company or one brand can’t bring an end to human trafficking by themselves… but little by little, they can, WE can make an impact… one woman at a time!
Elegantees employs and hires women who have been rescued out of the horrific industry, teaches them a skill, gives them a job, a fair and living wage, a positive and safe environment to be in and works to restore their hope. Hope is key.
Here’s an awesome video to help explain a little more about the heart and soul of Elegantees.
I mean, I love so many things about Elegantees. (I’d say a pretty good portion of my basics in my closet are all from them! haha!) In addition to their amazing mission and purpose, their clothes are just dang CUTE, well made, and soft (sooooo soft!)! I also love love LOVE that each tee has name (and SIGNATURE) of the woman who made it on the tag.
To me that’s so special. To know the name and face behind the clothing I’m wearing.
My favorite pieces include the Chelsea tee (I own this in three colors), the Kilee Tunic (I also own this in three colors), and the Claire top. I have more that I love, too… but we’ll stick with those for now. 🙂 You can also shop all these looks from The Flourish Market. (Be sure to use the code STILLBEINGMOLLY for free shipping)
So, if you’re looking for AMAZING (and adorable) basic tees, dresses, and tanks that can be worn SO many ways and dressed up and dressed down… you HAVE to check out Elegantees. (right now you can use the code “MOLLY” for a 10% discount on your order!)
What about you? Have you heard of Elegantees? Any favorite brands I should check out?
*This is not a sponsored post. I genuinely love Elegantees and I am sharing them with you because they’re my fave! <3
