Made for Freedom | #FashionforGood Friday
A few weeks ago, I briefly introduced y’all to an amazing company and brand called Made for Freedom. I knew that they would be a PERFECT fit for my #FashionForGood series! Made for Freedom is a company with a mission to produce products that are made with dignity by those at risk of and survivors of sex trafficking.
They partner with restoration and employment centers around the world that provide dignified employment for women coming out of desperate situations. Through making their products, women are provided with a safe place to work, a good wage and the dignity that comes with supporting themselves.
If you know me, you know that human trafficking is an issue I am extremely passionate about. I have served on the board of directors for a local anti-human trafficking organization here in the Durham area called Transforming Hope Ministries (THM) for a few years, and working with THM is one of those things that just fires me up.
So, when I learn about an organization that is doing amazing things and making a difference – especially when it comes to fighting the good fight against human trafficking, I am ALL on board.
Made for Freedom has five core values that make up who they are:
(sharing this from their site…)
Hope
Though the issues are big, we know that it can get better, and we believe that every person can make a difference.
Dignity
We want every person to be able to hold their heads high and to be respected: heart, mind, body, soul, and style. We partner with centers that provide employment that is safe, pays above a fair wage, encourages and allows for personal growth and love, and bolsters self-respect as a reflection of this value.
Freedom
We partner with centers that provide employment that encourages professional development and balances interdependence and autonomy. We do not in any way endorse force, fraud, or coercion in employment.
Beauty
Through the centers we partner with, women and girls around the world are offered a space to be individuals and to grow in their sense of self.
Sustainability
We strive to build a company that will grow and provide increasing and consistent opportunities for dignified employment. We also consider our impact on the natural environment to ensure we do not exploit resources but enhance healthy production processes that will allow future generations to enjoy all that we can now.

I can’t say enough good things about Made for Freedom and the work their doing, their mission, the quality of their products, and just the heart and soul of their brand.
