100% Pure Cosmetics Review & Everyday Makeup Tutorial
Last month, I did a makeup tutorial on the blog using all natural and non-toxic makeup and you guys LOVED IT! I got so many emails and comments from y’all saying that you’d like to see more tutorials like it and, since I LOVE doing makeup stuffs, I’m totally on board.
Well, within the last couple of months, I have discovered (way late to the game) 100% Pure cosmetics. My friend April carries them in her shop and the more I learn about them, the more I love them. This brand is AMAZING – it’s all natural, non-toxic, fruit pigmented, 100% vegan / cruelty free, made in the USA cosmetics and beauty products. They even have a couple of products that are USDA organic!
I originally bought the highlighter / luminizer and the mascara and, well, I’m calling those my “gateway” products because I am now 100% addicted to 100% Pure cosmetics. I’m a fan FO’ LYFE.
Well, since becoming a 100% Pure fan, I’ve basically started using all their products for all things makeup related and so I wanted to share with y’all a little review of what I have AND do a one-brand, all natural makeup tutorial for you guys using ONLY 100% Pure products.
ANYWAY! This is the look… so keep reading for the tutorial and review!!
Just wanted to show a little side-by-side before and after. I do NOT know why my smile is so awkward in these! YIKES. #tired?
Starting bare faced…
STEP ONE – Priming the face!
On the daily (and for this tutorial), I am using the 100% Pure Mattifying Primer. You guys, I am OBSESSED with this primer! For real. This primer is the bee’s knees. It smells PHENOMENAL, it is so smooth going on, really helps my makeup last all day, AND it’s nourishing and HEALTHY for your skin! I would compare it to primers like Benefit’s Porefessional or Smashbox’s primer, but BETTER annnnnd it doesn’t have nasty, toxic ingredients!
I just apply this all over my face and rub it in to create a smooth, even base. I love the mattifying primer, and definitely recommend it if your skin is a little oily or combination. If you tend to have DRY skin, you might want to try the luminous primer which is going to be a little more, well, luminous and give you more of a glow.
Next, priming the eyelids!
A little pro tip I learned from my friend April at Be Pure Beauty is that you can actually use CONCEALER to prime your eyelids! I have been using the 100% Pure long lasting concealer in the color “Creme”.
The key for using concealer as a primer is to use a little and to apply by tapping it on your eyelids with your fingers. If you use too much, your eyeshadow will look cakey. If you use too little (or none at all), you risk your eyeshadow either creasing or coming off altogether.
Step three, time to do the eye makeup!
I absolutely LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE this Pretty Naked palette from 100% Pure. The colors are gorgeous, the pigments are striking, and everything is fruit pigmented!!! How cool is that?!
In the palette you get three eyeshadow colors, a blush, and a luminizer / highlight!
The eyeshadows are so beautiful and perfect for a neutral, everyday eye look. The “Flax Seed” color is a matte neutral base, the “Toffee” has a SLIGHT shimmer to it and is great for an all-over-the-lid color or great for the crease, and the “Chestnut” has a beautiful hint of shimmer to it and makes a great color for the outer corner or even all over the lid.
For this particular look, I took the “Flax Seed” color and applied that all over the lid and all the way up to the brow bone for a nice, matte, neutral base.
Next, take the taupey colored “Toffee” shade and, using a shader brush, apply that color to the outer corner and swipe it into the crease. The key is to use very light strokes holding the brush towards the end so that you don’t get too much on your eyes. It gives you more control over how much product you apply. Oh, and blend, blend, blend!
Lastly, with the “Chestnut” shade, take a flat shader brush and press it into the inner 1/2 of the eyelid. Instead of “brushing” the color on, pressing it in helps you apply the color with more precision and control AND helps to prevent fallout.
Step four, liner and brows!
First, I use the liner to line my water line and lower lash line. Feel free to skip this step if lining your water or lash line just isn’t your scene. I like it, so I do it… but it’s not “crucial” to the look.
This liner also works GREAT for filling in brows! Well, that is, if you have dark hair like me… The key to success with this is using VERY, VERY little product. I mean, I’m talking LIGHT pressure and apply just a couple of strokes. This eyeliner is AMAZING and has a crazy amount of pigment so a little goes A LONG way.
Once I’ve applied a couple of strokes of the product, I then take an eyebrow brush (this one is boar bristles) and blend it out so my eyebrows don’t look cray cray.
Next, it’s time to apply concealer so I actually look awake!
Here’s that concealer I mentioned above doing double duty again…
Now, this concealer is VERY thick and I recommend rubbing your finger in the product and then tapping it on and then blending with a concealer brush. I typically apply it to my under eyes, bridge of my nose, and any problem areas.
Then, of course, foundation.
I do foundation AFTER I do my eyes (but before mascara), so that in case I mess up or if there is any fallout, I can clean it up. I have been LOVING this 100% Pure Super Fruits Healthy Skin Foundation. I am using the color Creme and it is pretty much exact for my skin tone (especially in the winter). I have been using this foundation for a couple of weeks now and I LOVE it. It is definitely medium-to-full coverage, goes on really smoothly, wears REALLY well all day (especially if I use primer!), and doesn’t look cakey.
You can definitely use a foundation brush, but I like to apply the foundation with my fingers because I just feel like it goes on smoother and it gives me more control. I also like to “press” the foundation in so it blends more with my skin.
Then, it’s time to go back to that Pretty Naked Palette from before to use the blush and luminizer.
I take the Pretty Naked powder blush and apply that to the apples of my cheeks and then dust it lightly on my nose and forehead to give a nice wash of color. This blush is REALLY pigmented so again, a little goes a long way.
Then, using a fan brush, I apply the Pink Champagne luminescent powder to the tops of my cheekbones and my temples, with a LITTLE bit on the tip of my nose. I absolutely LOVE this highlight / luminizer. I used it in a tutorial a month or so ago and I seriously can’t say enough good things about this product. I am a highlight girl and this highlight doesn’t disappoint!! I compare it to the Hourglass or Becca highlighters… but again, BETTER!
Then comes my favorite part: MASCARA!
I also used this 100% Pure Maracuja Oil mascara in my tutorial last month and I am still using this mascara daily and I love it. It smells so good and goes on really smoothly. It doesn’t fallout and a couple of coats gives you a really natural look.
Just apply a couple of coats and you are golden!
Then lastly, to finish the look off… LIPSTICK!!
Yes, my lipstick is dented because I’ve been wearing it all the time and have had it in my purse and my three-year-old decided to find it and try to put it on. That was a mess. BUT, in any event, I wasn’t worried about her playing with it because again, it’s fruit pigmented and has no yucky ingredients!!
This is the 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Pomegranate Oil Anti Aging Lipstick in “Calypso.” They have so many gorgeous colors! I want to try them all!
Let me tell you about this lipstick. It is AMAZING. Not only does it smell great, but it goes on so smoothly and it wears SO WELL all day. It provides a matte-ish finish and really is very, very long wearing. You don’t have to reapply it all that often!! I LOVE it.
And voila! The look is complete!!
I realize that by going through the step-by-step process here, it seems like this might take a while… but honestly, this look can be done in under 10 minutes! SUPER easy and great for every day. You can change it up a little here or there depending on if you’re going out for something fancy or just around town running errands.
Another look at before and after:
So what do you think? Did you like this look? Did you like this tutorial? Have you ever used 100% Pure products before?

Molly, I love every single color you used! Man, I’m so sad I missed Thursday night. YEARS ago QVC carried 100% Pure brand. I was always intrigued by the “blueberries used to tint the mascara” and things like that. Maybe it’s time to try again…
I love this! You are gorgeous, Molly!
