Good Hair and Hair for Good with SheaMoisture
I have been using SheaMoisture shampoo and conditioner for awhile now and I absolutely love it. Even my husband uses it and loves it, too. We even love the SheaMoisture baby shampoo and bath wash for our kiddos! Their products are all cruelty free, made with natural and certified organic ingredients, and never contain parabens, sulfates, mineral oils, phthalates, propylene glycol, etc.
Not only do I love SheaMoisture’s products (on the real!), but also I love SheaMoisture as a company! They are a Certified B corporation, which basically means that they are using their business as a force for good in this world. You know how much I love that! I mean, I have a whole podcast dedicated to businesses doing good!
Another really awesome thing about the company is SheaMoisture’s participation in Target’s Made to Matter Program. Since Shea butter is a main ingredient in all SheaMoisture products, they ethically source their Shea butter from 13 women’s cooperatives in Northern Ghana as part of their purpose-driven Community Commerce business model. Their investment in these cooperatives help women entrepreneurs develop self-sustaining businesses – THAT is something that can really change lives! All of the women are paid an ethical premium wage AND they ensure that the efficiency, health, profitability and quality of life is elevated for members of the co-ops. The women SheaMoisture works with in Ghana become partners, not just suppliers, and with their rise in income, the women experience greater health, greater access to education, AND the benefits of financial freedom. I love that so much!!
For the last couple of months, we’ve been using the SheaMoisture Peace Rose Oil Complex shampoo and conditioner which is AMAZING. I was running out of my shampoo and conditioner and headed to Target to get some more. (I love that Target carries so many SheaMoisture products and this is in the Salon aisle!) However, since I like to always keep my hair guessing, I decided to switch it up and try out their Sea Kelp & Pearl Protein shampoo, conditioner, AND leave-in conditioner. It also comes in Argan Oil & Almond Milk for softening and detangling fine, frizzy, straight and wavy hair.
Even though the Sea Kelp & Pearl Protein is “meant” for color treated hair (which I do not color my hair), I wanted to try it out anyway! There’s a common misconception that you can only use shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair on color treated hair. Not true at all! Hair care products that are formulated for color treated hair just provide extra moisture and protection to your hair! Y’all know that I’ve been having a lot of postpartum hair struggles and my hair needs a whole lot of extra TLC and can use all the extra moisture and protection it can get. And especially now that we are into the dry, cooler months, my hair can get really brittle and dry and I love that the sea kelp and pearl protein formula gives my hair the love it realllllllly needs. My hair feels so much stronger, healthier, and shinier!
If you want to try out any of the SheaMoisture products, you can snag a sweet deal on Ibotta right now for $2 back from your next SheaMoisture hair care purchase at Target!!
