57+ Brands & Companies to Buy From That Are Fighting Human Trafficking
You are well aware of my passion for fighting human trafficking. This issue is one that has deeply impacted me for over 6 years now and it is one I talk a lot about. One of the biggest (and honestly, most common) questions I get from readers, family, and friends about how to fight to end modern day slavery is, “Well, what can I do about it? I’m just one person.” And while this may sound a little crazy, there is something incredibly simple you can do:
You too can start fighting human trafficking just by changing the way you shop.
There are a ton of amazing brands and companies that work on fighting human trafficking. Whether they hire vulnerable or at risk people, whether they work with survivors, or whether they financially support organizations that are doing the boots-on-the-ground work in this area… you can make a MASSIVE difference just by shopping from these companies.
Just one sale can provide anywhere from three hours of work for an artisan, to even providing enough funds for a few hours after care for a victim. Just. One. Sale.
Since January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month, I have been working for the last couple of months on compiling a comprehensive list of brands and companies that you can buy from that are fighting human trafficking. I’ve compiled a list of over 57 (yes, over FIFTY SEVEN) amazing companies fighting the good fight. And yes, this took me quite some time.
Yes, buying ethically and buying fair trade in general makes a huge difference and can make an impact in this area. However, for the purposes of this, I compiled a list that focuses SOLELY on brands that have a direct impact on the area of ending human trafficking. Many of these brands hire survivors, donate profits to anti-human trafficking organizations, or work with artisan groups in this space… These are companies that are truly amazing and you can buy from knowing that your purchase is really making an impact. Truly.
I have compiled the list and broken it down by category – fashion and clothing, jewelry and accessories, home decor, bath and body, and subscription boxes. A few brands fall into multiple categories, so I included them in each category below that is applicable. Additionally, I even have coupon and discount codes for a few brands!
I *did not* include information about each company because, quite honestly, that would make this post WAY too long… so hopefully breaking it down by category is helpful enough. I did include a little bit of information or pictures from a few of my favorites! But I can assure you, if the company is included in this list, they’re amazing.
*Also, if you know of a company that should be included in this list and I somehow missed them, please don’t hesitate to email me or leave a comment on this post and let me know!
We vote every single day by the way we spend our money. So how are YOU going to vote today?
