Amos’s Mickey Mouse Birthday Party
We had Amos’s 2nd birthday Mickey Mouse party last weekend and we kept it really simple… which ended up being so much fun. Amos is obsessed with Mickey Mouse (you know, like most kids his age are), but he is really obsessed. SO, naturally, we had a Mickey Mouse “Oh TWODLES” birthday party for him.
Because of some unfortunate circumstances last year, we weren’t able to have a birthday party for him at all last year (and he didn’t even get a cake) 🙁 – so I wanted this year to really be special for him. To be honest, we’ve had a lot going on in our lives this past month (as you know) and so I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to pull it off for him, but by keeping it simple, his Mickey Mouse birthday party turned out to be a blessing.
AMOS’S MICKEY MOUSE BIRTHDAY PARTY
For starters, we just invited immediate family and only a couple of his closest friends. We wanted the focal point of the Mickey Mouse party to be the cake! My sister is an UNBELIEVABLE baker (she owns the best bakery in North Carolina! It’s in Jamestown, NC so you should go there!) and she, as usual, delivered and made the CUTEST Mickey Mouse birthday cake for Amos! She even made him a smash cake since he didn’t get one last year.
For food, we focused on Amos’s favorite foods with a Mickey twist – “Minnies Bow Tie Pasta Salad,” “Donald’s Cheese and Quackers,” and, well, fruit. 🙂
We got Mickey straws and little decorations from the dollar store, and everything else I got off Amazon!
We handed out Mickey ears to the kids at the party – this pack of 12 was only $13!
To commemorate the day, we had guests write a little birthday message to Amos in this Mickey Mouse birthday book!
Amos blowing out his candles was the sweetest moment of the day. 🙂
He hates to get his hands messy, so he was not a fan of the smash cake after all! hahah
We had a great time celebrating our sweet boy! He loved his Mickey Mouse birthday party and we loved getting to spend time with our family and friends. I’ve learned that while those amazing, intricate Pinterest-worthy parties are amazing, sometimes the simplest parties really do mean the most.
