Let me be honest with you… I had to really give myself a pep talk before I put pictures of myself in a bathing suit on the internet. Untouched, non-airbrushed, real images of me in a BATHING SUIT. This was not easy for me as I have always struggled with body image issues… BUT, over the past couple of years, I have begun to love and respect my body more than I ever have in my previous 32+ years of life.
My body has completed a half marathon, multiple 10 milers, hiked mountains, lifted weights, and carried three beautiful babies. My body, especially in the past year with losing weight, then gaining it back when I was pregnant with Elijah, and then dealing with our loss of Elijah nearly halfway through pregnancy, and then having to battle postpartum issues, etc… my body has been through a lot. That’s honestly an understatement.
There have been times when I have looked in the mirror and been angry at my body… because in so many ways I feel SO not in control of it. No matter what I do… no matter how many days I go to the gym, no matter what lifestyle changes I make to my diet… I have always been and will always be curvy. I will never be a size 4 or a size 6. It’s not going to happen. And you know what? I’m okay with that for the first time in my life. I am proud of what my body has been through and what it can do. It’s a daily battle and not every day is easy and some days I get really upset… but in the end, I am thankful for my health and the body that God has entrusted to me.
BUT, I will say, over the years, I’ve struggled to find modest ethically made swimwear I feel truly confident in. I have struggled to find something that I don’t feel like I have to cover up or hide in when I’m at the beach. But a couple of years ago I discovered Jessica Rey swimwear and I feel instantly in love. This black “Grace” one-piece swimsuit by Jessica Rey is my latest addition to my collection of Jessica Rey swimsuits and it is probably my favorite yet. I mean, a classic black swimsuit? You can’t go wrong! The ruching, the ruffles, the tie, and the adjustable straps hold everything in place, I feel covered, and I feel CONFIDENT. I have rarely ever said that… EVER… when it comes to swimwear.
My husband loves it, I love it, I get compliments on it when I go to the pool or the beach… I. Love. It. EVERY woman deserves to feel confident and beautiful in the skin she is in and ladies… how often do we miss out on something because we aren’t confident enough in our swimwear??? Stop missing out on life. ROCK THE SWIMSUIT.
And not only are Jessica Rey swimsuits beautiful and modest and flattering… they are ethically made right here in the United States!! I LOVE THIS COMPANY SO MUCH and I will not stop telling everyone I know about them. They’ve also been super generous to provide y’all with an exclusive coupon code of “stillbeingmolly” for 15% off your purchase!
What about you? Do you feel confident in a swimsuit? Have you tried Jessica Rey swimwear?
