Our 2018 Oak Island, North Carolina Family Beach Trip
Our family visiting Oak Island, North Carolina for our annual family beach trip. Here are just a few images from our time there!
Back in June, our family took our annual trip to Oak Island, North Carolina for our beach vacation. John has been going to this beach since he was a kid and we’ve gone together ever since we were dating. It’s so fun to look back on pictures from each year and see how we’ve grown, how the kids have grown, etc.
I planned on sharing these pictures much earlier, but, as you know, we lost our son Malachi the day we got back from the beach… so I’m a little late in sharing these. While some of these pictures are painful to look at (especially the ones where I’m visibly pregnant), I’m so glad we captured them. This was a special trip to us and it will always hold a special place in our family.
The kids LOVED the beach this year. Both of them just didn’t want to leave… ever. Lilly never wanted to get out of the water!! NO FEAR… which means mommy had all the fear.
Lilly caught her first fish!!!! She was SO EXCITED. Amos actually also caught a fish on this trip, but sadly we did not get a picture of it.
Since we were super sunburned, we took a day off from the beach and took the ferry to Fort Fisher to go to the aquarium. The kids loved the ferry ride and the aquarium was so much fun!
So many fishies!
Then we did our annual tradition of going to play putt-putt at the WORLD’S HOTTEST PUTT PUTT COURSE. I’m not kidding. I don’t care if it’s 60 degrees on the beach, it’s 170 degrees on this putt-putt course. We love it, and it’s so much fun… but I have no idea why this place is always a billion degrees hotter than everywhere else on Oak Island! hahahaha
Then one night at sunset we went out to the beach for some family pictures – I took them (along with a tripod!! hahaha)
Amos was *not* having any of this.
I will treasure this picture forever <3
My family <3
My heart melts
My favorite picture of me and Lilly girl!
The kids insisted on sleeping in the same bed together every night an it was the actual sweetest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.
I have a similar picture of Amos from our trip last year and it’s so cute to see how much he has grown…
My boys <3
They love their papa <3
We love our annual trip to Oak Island! What about you? Do you have a favorite beach you visit with family each year?
