3 of My Favorite Ethical Denim Brands
Looking for the best ethical denim brands? Here are my top 3 favorite ethical denim brands that I have tried and love!
I get a lot of questions from you about the best ethical denim brands since, you know, denim is a pretty big staple in everyone’s wardrobes. While there are certainly WAY MORE ethical denim brands now than ever before… I definitely have my favorites. So, since I get asked this question so much, I wanted to share my top 3 favorite ethical denim brands with you.
Remember, this is not an exhaustive ethical denim list. I am working on that! This is simply the ethical denim brands that I, personally, love the most after having tried A LOT of denim on over the years.
For sizing reference, I am a size 14 / 32 and I am 5’3″ on a good day so I always wear “ankle” or “short” length denim.
#1. ABLE
You know ABLE is one of my favorite ethical fashion brands – period. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. I very much compare ABLE to an ethical Madewell. The styles and cuts and feel of the brands are very similar.
ABLE is, by far, my new favorite ethical denim brand that I have absolutely fallen head over heels in love with. Their denim is incredibly well made. They use the highest quality materials, each pair is hand crafted, and let me tell you – this denim is going to LAST YOU A LONG TIME. This is the denim that you will be wearing 10 / 15 years from now and it will just look loved and perfectly worn. I cannot say enough good things about their denim.
I love that ABLE not only carries classic cuts but also trendier denim like the seam trend and wide leg as well! ABLE is going to be a spendier denim ($$), but it is worth every penny. No joke. (Keep an eye out for periodic sales, too!)
My favorites: The high rise and the slouch!

#2. Grace & Lace Jeggings
No, Grace & Lace is not a “denim” brand, per se… but their jeggings have straight up changed my life. Okay, that’s an exaggeration… but let me tell you. They are amazing and I am obsessed. I never thought I would love jeggings so much. These jeggings are ethically made in China and they help to fund orphanages in India. They are also incredibly affordable! So these jeggings won’t break the bank.
A word of note – these are INCREDIBLY STRETCHY so size down from what you think you’d normally wear. I am actually wearing a size Large and they fit me well. Again, I’m a size 32 / 14 and the Large stretches enough to fit me comfortably.
In this picture below, I am wearing the distressed mid-rise pull-on denim. I also own the white zip-up cropped distressed jeggings (in a size Large) from Grace & Lace (not pictured below) – they are currently on sale! The jeggings also come in black, cargo, light wash, and in non-distressed styles as well. You will LOVE THEM. Plus, since they are so stretchy, you can basically do lunges in them. Haha!!

#3. PAIGE denim
I. Love. PAIGE. PAIGE has actually been the denim brand I have loved for the longest time. Yes, they are designer denim so they are going to be on the (very) pricer side… but I have had some pairs of PAIGE jeans for the better part of a decade and they still hold up. I’ve had to patch them a few times, but they wear like a dream. PAIGE is made in the USA and I love that they are the only denim brand in the country founded by a woman! YASSS!
I have black, skinny, and distressed PAIGE jeans and have even worn their jeans in maternity. I love them!
