My Holy Grail Clean Mascaras
Looking for the BEST clean mascaras that actually do the job? I’ve got my favorites in this post!
I love mascara. Always have. Always will. You know what I always say? The bigger the eyelashes, the closer to God. Or something. When I blink, I want to fly away. Okay, slight exaggeration, but you get my point. It’s the one, must-have beauty item for me. I feel naked without AT LEAST mascara on my eyes… so, needless to say, because of my mascara obsession, I am always on the lookout for the best, holy grail, clean mascaras out there.
A few years ago, I tried and tested 10 of the best natural, clean mascaras on the market and you loved that post! I still love a lot of the mascaras in that post, but a couple years ago, I tried a mascara that I kept seeing pop up in ads and wondered if it lived up to the hype.
…and it did.
Now, let me preface this by saying: I almost never reorder a makeup product. That might seem strange, but even if I really like a project, it’s rare that I reorder it. Why? Well, because usually by the time I finish a makeup product (even one that I LOVE!), I tend to want to try something else. Does that make sense? So, for me to reorder a product is saying something.
The products in this post? I have reordered them all. Multiple times. And will for the REST OF MY LIFE BECAUSE THEY ARE THAT GOOD.
Okay, enough rambling. Let me break them down for you:
1. Iredale “PureLash” Lash Extender and Conditioner
Okay, now this is not a mascara, per se, because… well, it’s not a mascara. BUT, it is a product I use on my lashes every single day before I put on my mascara. It’s basically a “primer” for your lashes. I put it on and let it sit for about 20 seconds or so before I put on my mascara. It helps the mascara to go on more smoothly, it conditions your lashes, AND it helps them grow and look longer. I’ve talked about this product before because I mentioned it in my clean mascara post years ago. I’ve used this stuff for probably four years now and I will use it for the rest of my life. It is on the pricier side, but it really does work and it lasts forever. It probably takes me close to a year to go through a single tube, and I use it every day. Buy it here.
2. Thrive Causemetics “Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara”
This is the stuff that I kept seeing pop up in ads and I finally bit the bullet, ordered it and tried it. This. Mascara. Is. Amazing. I cannot tell you how much I am obsessed with it. I have reordered it at least 3 or 4 times now I love it that much. It takes me about 5-6 months to go through a tube (maybe longer) and it is just so good. It makes your lashes POP, it doesn’t flake, and it lasts all day. I truly, truly cannot say enough good things about it. Now, to take it off takes a little getting used to… it basically puts these “tubes” around your eyelashes so when you take it off you wet your eyes and sort of “pull” them off with your fingers. It’s nearly impossible to explain and I’m probably way overcomplicating it, but it just doesn’t come off like normal mascara. And honestly, I love that because it doesn’t give you racoon eyes. HIGHLY recommend this stuff. You will not regret it. Use this link to get $10 off your first purchase of $50 or more!
3. Butter London Stroke of Wow Volumizing Mascara
This one is new-ish to me. I bought it for the first time last spring because I was in the mood to try something new and was intrigued by the unique brush design. I was not disappointed. It is PHENOMENAL. The brush has this unique design where one side you apply the mascara and then you flip the brush and it volumizes and separates your lashes. It gives amazing lift and lasts all day! I’m a huge fan. My only slight pet peeve is it can be a little bit difficult to remove without getting racoon eyes, but that’s a very small issue in the grand scheme of things. 🙂 Get it here.
The bonus about about all of these mascaras is they are free of parabens, sulfates, they’re vegan and cruelty free! They’re also safe for people that wear contact lenses!
Let me know if you try any of them and which one(s) are your favorites.
