RECIPE | Cheesy Chicken & Stuffing Casserole
I realize that I share a lot of “easy” recipes… but that’s because I really don’t have time to be making complicated, sit overnight, gotta marinate for three days-type recipes. AIN’T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT. When you work from home and when you have a baby and you have to come up with dinner every night, you need things that are DELICIOUS and EASY.
A dear friend of mine from church shared this recipe with me and OH-MY-GOSH it is so stinkin’ good. I’ve already made it like four times. It’s definitely a new household favorite. It’s just hearty, delicious, comfort food. So, shout out to Ashley for sharing it with me!
RECIPE | Easy Cheesy Chicken & Stuffing Casserole
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 pound of boneless, skinless chicken breasts (I use the chicken breast tenderloins)
- Dash of salt, pepper, and garlic powder
- Sliced cheese (I use colby jack cheese)
- 2 cans of cream of chicken soup
- 1/4 cup of water
- 1-3 cups of dried stuffing (I used the boxed kind from Wal-mart)
- 1/3 cup of melted butter
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Place chicken breasts (uncooked) in a 8×8 casserole dish or pan. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and garlic powder to taste all over the chicken breasts.
Place one slice of sliced cheese per piece of chicken on top of each piece of chicken.
In a separate bowl, mix 2 cans of cream of chicken soup with 1/4 cup of water. Pour the mixture over the chicken.
Then, top the chicken with 1-3 cups of dried stuffing (I used the whole box). Melt 1/3 cup of butter and then pour over the stuffing.
Bake the whole thing for one hour at 350 degrees.
Enjoy!
And here’s the finished product – so. yummy.
