REVIEW | Artsy Couture Photo-to-Canvas Prints
*I received a canvas print from Artsy Couture for review, however no other compensation was provided. All opinions are 100% my own! See my full disclosure page for more information. 🙂
So, raise your hand if you remember that big review post I did a month or two ago breaking down the different photo-to-canvas companies, what I liked about them, what I didn’t like, quality, price, service, etc? A few of you? Awesome.
Well, if you read that post (and if you read this blog), then you know how much I LOVE photo-to-canvas prints! I had hung them ALL over our old house and now that we have moved to a new house, there’s SO MUCH blank wall space just WAITING to be filled will pretty canvases!
One of the things that really makes a house feel more like a HOME is when you finally are able to get those pictures on the wall and make it feel personal. And I don’t know, there’s just something about a new house and that blank slate that gets me really excited about the possibilities. Plus, our new house is so nice!! I want it to look nice too! haha I’m such a girl about this…
Anyway, I’m rambling.
A lot of you emailed me after I posted the canvas review because many of you have been looking to buy canvases for your own apartments / homes / etc. I’m SO glad that it was helpful! I hope this one is helpful too!!
With all of that being said, the fabulous folks at Artsy Couture contacted me after I posted that big review of the different companies last month and wanted to throw their hat in the ring to see what I thought of their canvas gallery wraps.
I was REALLY excited to work with them because I’ve always heard great things about Artsy Couture from some of my photographer friends. Some of Artsy’s biggest clientele are photographers because of the high quality of their printing and their products. I was really curious to see their stuff for myself.
Well, I decided to pick out a GIANT canvas because I really wanted to have a big canvas print of this photo of the Great Rift Valley that I took when I was last in Kenya… and I thought that it would make gorgeous ART, too. Plus, the bigger the canvas, the more you’re able to REALLY tell the quality of the work and product (from my experience).
So, like I did for my last canvas review post, I’m going to break it down for you like this:
Quality of Artsy Couture canvas: I got a 30″x40″ canvas. That is a BIG canvas. And I was absolutely BLOWN away by it. I opened it up and the colors are stunning… they aren’t muted at all. There’s UV protection on the canvas to prevent fading, which is awesome.
However, the most AMAZING feature of it all is the way the actual canvas is printed on the, well, canvas. It’s COMPLETELY different than all the other canvases I have. The other canvases I have it’s basically like a sheet that the image is printed on and then that sheet is wrapped around wood and stapled on. With Artsy’s canvas, the image is actually printed on a similar canvas sheet but wrapped PERFECTLY around the wood… so it feels as if the canvas is actually printed on the wood. They definitely have the TIGHTEST corners of all the canvases and it’s really as close to perfect as you can get.
Here’s a comparison so you can see what I’m talking about with the difference in the wrapping… the left is Artsy the right is like all the other canvases I have:
I had the canvas sitting out in our new living room when we were moving into this house over the weekend and MULTIPLE people commented how gorgeous it was. It really is STUNNING and now my biggest problem is finding a place to put it because I want to hang it everywhere. I’m really indecisive. I haven’t hung it yet because I truly don’t know where I want to put it… haha!
Ease of Ordering: Honestly, this is where Artsy could really use some improvement. Their online ordering system (or their ordering system in general) is really not very user friendly and super confusing to use. I, obviously, got it figured out, but I had kind of a hard time at first and I consider myself to be relatively tech savvy. You download a client that goes onto your computer and you select your products from there… Once you get it figured out it’s not bad, but I’ll be honest, I really didn’t love that part.
Shipping: Insanely fast. It took about a week from the time I ordered it until it was on my doorstep.
Customer Service: I actually don’t really have any experience with their customer service to really give you an accurate review of it.
Picture of what the back and mounting look like:
Price Point: Because Artsy is a professional-grade printing company (they do things other than just canvases… photo books, prints, etc.), the prices are a little higher than some of the other companies… and I don’t think you’re going to be seeing a Groupon or Living Social anytime soon… BUT, they do regularly run specials and often have great sales. Remember, you really are getting what you pay for!!
So, overall, I am a HUGE fan of Artsy and they have definitely just won some of my future business! I do still really love Canvas on Demand and Easy Canvas Prints like I mentioned in my last review, but Artsy’s quality of their product just really blew me away. I can’t wait to buy more canvases from them!!
What about you? Have you used Artsy Couture before? Are you canvas obsessed like I am? What’s your favorite company?

Sorry, I know this is an older review but I just found it. I absolutely love artsy couture and can add that their CS is amazing. I received a canvas that the color of my daughter’s eyes (blue) looked off, they refunded me. No questions asked.
Artsy and CGO are not ‘stretched’ canvas prints. They are glued to a 1/8 in sheet of MDF and that folds around a block of Styrofoam. The materials used to produce these prints are not archival…neither are the glues, etc. Certainly they are cheaper because they cut corners and glue them down. But the last time I checked, the mona lisa was not glued to a piece of Styrofoam.
I’ve never used this company before, but I loooove canvas photos and we have tons of them in our apartment 🙂 I am glad to hear that you like this company (I LOVE the mount – so much easier than those little teeth/zigzag ones, haha!) and I will definitely have to give them a look! We’re moving in June, and I want to put more canvases in our new place, so I’m going to check out Artsy Couture 🙂 Thanks for the review, Molly!
