Wedding Season Outfit Inspiration with Hanes & Funday Monday Link-Up!
*This post is brought to you by the fabulous people at Hanes. All opinions are 100% my own. 🙂
Wedding season is UPON us! While John and I got married in the middle of February, I do realize that the majority of weddings happen between April and September. We already have four weddings we are headed to in the next few months, so I’m already thinking about what to wear to each “wedding” event.
So, I got to thinking… with each wedding comes all the wedding EVENTS – showers, parties, dinners, and of course the WEDDING itself. I thought it might be fun to share with you just a few outfit inspirations for each event during wedding season.
Now, each outfit also features a different pair of Hanes hosiery. If you’re anything like me, you’ve been wearing Hanes for YEARS. I actually did a post featuring Hanes about a year ago for outfit inspiration… 🙂 If I’m heading to any remotely fancy event, you’re pretty much guaranteed to catch me in a pair of tights or hosiery (okay, let’s just call them what they are – pantyhose, even though I really don’t love that word. Haha!)
For me, I just feel a little bit more confident when I’m wearing some… my legs are super pale (fine Irish skin, I tell ya), and so I feel like hosiery gives my skin a soft, more natural “glow” rather than being ashy and pasty. Keeping it real, okay?
Also, I don’t know about you, but if I’m wearing boots or heels (which I hardly wear heels, but if I do, you know what I mean), I DO NOT want my feet chafing against my shoes and causing blisters. Hosiery always helps to prevent that for me… am I the only one?
Also, #PROTIP – sometimes the biggest complaint against wearing pantyhose is them being too uncomfortable. I have found that if you size UP from what the packaging says, they will be way more comfortable and give you more breathing room without being too big or saggy (so you can have an extra piece of wedding cake).
Anyway, let’s get on with the outfit inspiration, shall we?
BRIDAL SHOWER (or even baby shower) OUTFIT INSPIRATION
Shirt: Lilly Pulitzer c/o | Skirt: LOFT Outlet | Sheer Hosiery: Hanes c/o | Shoes: Saks off Fifth | Bag: Valentino (old)
I love playing with my outfits for showers… sure you can wear a dress, but pairing a gorgeous top with a printed skirt really switches things up! Just remember to keep your colors bright and fun – it’s SPRING! 🙂 Also, one of the things I love about the ultra sheer collection of Hanes (which I’m wearing in a couple other outfits, too) is how natural they look. You can barely even tell that I’m wearing them which is what I love.
While Barbie legs are fine and dandy, they look fake. The more natural the tights are, the better.
ENGAGEMENT OR BACHELORETTE PARTY OUTFIT INSPIRATION
Dress: StitchFix (similar) | Shoes: Target | Bag: Miche c/o | Necklace: eBay | Black Opaque Tights: Hanes c/o
An engagement party or bachelorette party is the perfect excuse to bust out some classic black and white looks. I realize mine is a more modest look, but that’s just what I’m wearing these days… so if you want to rock a strapless number, do it… this is just more my style. Full outfit post of this one coming later this week!
REHEARSAL DINNER OUTFIT INSPIRATION
Lace Dress: Tulle (old, similar) | Blazer: Thrifted | Clutch: StitchFix | Boots: Boot Barn c/o | Ultra Sheer Tights: Hanes c/o
So this one is more of some casual rehearsal dinner inspiration for a bride… full disclosure – this is actually kinda sorta what I wore to OUR rehearsal dinner over two years ago. Now, I wore different cowboy boots and a jean jacket instead of this velvet blazer, but this is my rehearsal dinner dress. Praise the Lord it still fits! 🙂 Sure, you can definitely go with something more traditional and trendy, but this is totally my style and what I felt gorgeous and comfortable in on our rehearsal dinner night.
Now, you may be wondering, “Why would you wear tights with cowboy boots?” Have you ever gotten a blister from cowboy boots? They can be MEAN. If I’m wearing a “fancier” dress, I 100% will wear tights / hose with it because my boots go on so much easier and they don’t stick to my feet when I get sweaty. Again, keeping it real.
WEDDING GUEST OUTFIT INSPIRATION
Dress: Lilly Pulitzer c/o | Nude heels: Target (similar) | Clutch: Clothes Hound (similar) | Ultra Sheer: Hanes c/o
I have mentioned time and time again that I am NOT a heels girl. When I’m a guest at a wedding, that’s kinda like the one exception I’ll make and I will wear heels. I will TOTALLY bring flats with me to change into at the reception, but I’ll make a valiant effort to wear heels for the ceremony and whatnot.
A classic shift dress is pretty much a win for any wedding guest… unless it’s a beach wedding or black tie wedding… but even then, it’s versatile enough that you can dress it up or dress it down depending on your accessories.
So, those are just a few outfits that I hope gave you at least SOME inspiration for this year’s wedding season.
ALSO, be SURE to check out the Hanes Hosiery Save The Date Sanity sweepstakes that is happening on the Hanes Facebook page. Hanes is doing a daily giveaway of a sampling of their tights for three weeks AND their grand prize winner will receive $1,000 and $250 worth of tights! WHAT?! Awesome. Anyone 18+ plus can enter once a day for a chance to win daily and the grand prize. So, go check it out now!
So what about you? What’s your go-to outfit for each “wedding event”? Anything I should consider?
