REVIEW | The Montagne Jeunesse “Renew You” Sleep Spa Mask
I’ve mentioned a few times over the last few months how I’ve been trying to get into a good skin care routine. Either it’s age, having a baby, or a combination of both – but I’ve really begun to notice my skin looking tired lately. It’s looked dull, dry, and just dang tired. I can no longer just wash my face and call it a day. I’m just hyper aware now of how important it is to take good care of your skin… and so, I’m trying to head “aging” off at the pass and really start investing in my skin now!
I mean, skin IS the largest organ on your body.
So, I’ve been pretty much open to trying anything recently and seeing what works for me and what doesn’t. I know that not everything is going to work well on every skin type. Some skin types and some people will react one way to a product and others will react another way. I’m also allergic to a lot of ingredients in mainstream and some well known skincare products.
I’m allergic to benzoil peroxide which is in a TON of facial and acne products. I’m also slightly allergic to beeswax which is in SO MANY products. It depends on the product because SOME beeswax products don’t bother me like others – so with that it’s become a trial and error. It’s not like I’m going to die if I use something with beeswax, my skin just gets red and irritated. It’s more annoying than anything else.
One of the things I LOVE about skincare are masks. I always feel really fancy and pampered when I use a facial mask. It’s like a spa experience at home! They aren’t something I do all that often, but I’ve been trying to do them on a more regular basis as a part of my skin care routine.
I recently had the opportunity to try the Montagne Jeunesse “Renew You” Sleep Spa Mask.
For reference: I have normal to combination skin. It’s not overly oily and it’s not overly dry. When I have breakouts, they are usually concentrated in my t-zone. I’ve never really had a huge problem with acne. Thank you, mom, for the good skin genes!
The mask is a 100% bamboo mask that has natural fruit enzymes in it. It claims to smooth skin and eliminate dead skin cells. It also smells like papaya and pineapple (aka: SO. GOOD.).
The Sleep Spa Mask is $14.99 comes in a pack of four masks (each mask is one use) and you can get it online or at your local ULTA store.
So far I have done two of the four masks (once a week for the last two weeks).
Basically, the mask works like this:
- Wash your face before bedtime.
- Place the fabric mask on your face and lie down. Make sure to press it in to the crevices of your face. You will look extremely creepy during this time. My husband walked in when I put the mask on and was like, “Uhhh, what are you doing?” And then he backed away slowly and retreated to his office until I was done.
- Wait 10 minutes and remove the fabric mask and throw it away.
- Rub the excess product into your face! Don’t wash your face after removing the fabric mask.
- Go to sleep!
The leftover product is supposed to work its magic overnight.
Here’s my “BEFORE” – no makeup. Forgive the tired eyes and dry lips.
Here’s me getting ready to apply the mask… and lying down with the mask on for 10 minutes. I told you, you look SUPER creepy with it on. Haha! I warned you at least. 🙂
The “AFTER” – no makeup, post mask:
Overall, I REALLY like this mask. It’s not like I woke up the next morning and looked like a new person or suddenly had no wrinkles. And while I realize that the pictures don’t really show that much of a difference, I can say that my skin DEFINITELY felt more hydrated (especially after the second time using it) and it definitely felt smoother. I also really like that it’s cooling which is awesome in the summertime especially.
It also smells amazing.
I won’t say that it’s the BEST mask I’ve ever tried or my favorite mask I’ve ever tried or that it’s crazy life-changing… but, I will say that I definitely like it and I will definitely use it again. I also think that for four masks, the $14.99 price tag is on the money and a reasonable cost.
So, if you’re looking for a cooling, hydrating, easy-to-use overnight mask on a budget – I would absolutely recommend the Montagne Jeunesse “Renew You” Sleep Spa Mask line.
What about you? Have you tried the Montagne Jeunesse masks before? What particular skin care products are you loving lately?

You have such a cheerful face – makeup or not!
Masks are literally my favorite–you’re right there’s just something so pampering about them! I’m a bit wary to wear one overnight, but I can see how that’d give you the biggest benefit of all!
