Two Easy Holiday Hairstyles for the Hairstyle Challenged

I have told you guys before, I am not a hair expert. Fashion? I got that. Makeup? Got that. Hair? Not as much. I love doing my hair, I enjoy it, I’m just not good at it. My hair is ALWAYS my struggle… It’s thick. It’s heavy. It’s difficult to manage. So, I usually stick to the same ol’ same ol’ routine… blowdry. Curl. Go. Or blowdry. Throw in a ponytail. Go. Or blowdry. Straighten. Go. That’s it. It’s because of my hairstyle-challenged-self that I’m always, always on the lookout for the next thing that will make life easier when it comes to doing hair styles. OR at least get me to switch it up for once!
I teamed up with the fab folks at Conair to conquer my hair-doing fear and create to SUPER EASY to do (like, if I can do them, ANYONE can do them) hairstyles for the holidays (or really ANY time of year!).
These are the finished looks… just keep reading to find out how I did them!
First, I needed to head to my local Walmart to get all my Conair hairstyling accoutrements.
So, for BOTH of these looks, I started with wet, freshly washed hair. I used the Infiniti Pro by Conair® 3Q™ Brushless Motor Dryer and the Conair pro round brush to dry my hair…
Just dryin’ my hair…
Post hair dry…
Now, for the base of these looks, I wanted curled hair. Because curly hair is fancy hair. And fancy hair is holiday hair. 🙂
If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you know my love for the Infiniti Pro by Conair® Curl Secret®. I did a review, demo, and tutorial with it last year and I have been using it ever since! If you want to see how to actually use and work the Conair Curl Secret, you can view my video here. Since I already own and love the Curl Secret, I purchased another one to give to a friend for Christmas! It’s the PERFECT Christmas gift for the girl who may also struggle with doing her hair…
Then I just took 1/2 inch to 1 inch sections of hair and curled them all the way around my head. (yes, I changed shirts… I had spilled on myself after doing my hair… haha…)
Then this is the finished look with the Curl Secret. I used the 10 second setting on the curler to give me some tighter, but not TOO tight curls.
Then, for the first look, I just used the Conair color match bobby pins. The Hollywood Roll hairband is for the second look…
For the first look, ALL I did was pull my hair to the side and do a low side ponytail. Then, I took a section of hair and wrapped it around the hair elastic and used the bobby pins to pin it in place… this is just so it looks sleeker and covers the hair elastic. Then, I just took some curls out from the pony and framed my face. Yes, that’s literally all I did. Super easy, but looks fancy and way more complicated than it actually is.
The finished first look:
Now for the second look, I decided to try something I’d never tried before and use a styling tool accessory. I got the Hollywood Roll hairband…
The first step is to just place the headband over your head and rest it on your forehead. The back “roll” part should sit on the base of your skull.
Then just start grabbing sections of hair and tuck it in to the roll… keep going until all the hair is tucked in.
Then once all the hair was tucked in, I took some sections around the front to frame the face.
The finished second look:
And that’s it! This is the perfect, super easy “updo” for the holidays, a date night, you name it.
What do you think? Are you a hairstyling fanatic? Will you try either of these? How do you like to style your hair?
I so want to try one of those rolls to see if they work for me. My hair slips out of everything! So pretty!

It sounds like we have the same type of hair texture. I am always having issues too. And I have never seen anything like that Hollywood Roll product. I absolutely love it. I always spend forever and a day working on up dos and end up taking them out because they look ridiculous. Talk about wasted time. I really love this look and need to get one of those things ASAP!
I know I am a little far behind on my blog reading. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I love both looks SO much! You look gorgeous! I am going to be searching for that headband now. 🙂
I do the second look all the time! it’s my lazy but cute style that I resort to when I oversleep 🙂
They are both so pretty!

They both look amazing!
I’m obsessed with this curler! I stink at curling hair so I just feel like this would be magical and life changing for me! I’ve already told my husband a thousand times that this is what I want for Christmas!
So pretty!!! I love the second look!
