Lilly’s Got Brand New Shoes…
As you may (or may not) know, Lilly just recently started walking. Some people call her a “late” walker, I call her a “when she wanted to” walker. It was like the first fifteen months of her life she had absolutely NO interest in walking and then BOOM… she woke up and said, “I think I’m going to walk today.” And she hasn’t stopped since. Homegirl is RUNNING now.
Well, up until the last three weeks, I never really had to worry about toddler shoes for Lilly. Mostly because well, she hates shoes. She takes them off every chance she gets. And while she still refuses to wear them in the car or in a stroller (she promptly removes them when seated for any period of time), she will at least wear them when she’s out playing or walking around. Thank the Lord.
Anyway, as I said yesterday, I had the awesome opportunity to work with Rack Room Shoes on styling some shoes… AND getting Lilly fitted for a pair of her own sneaks. I wanted to actually get the full experience, so I went to visit the store right near my house…
Rack Room Shoes has a CRAZY huge selection of toddler shoes to choose from. Everything from dressier shoes, to athletic shoes, to boots, and character shoes.
One of the associates helped me to get Lilly measured. I did not get a picture of this process because Lilly was strangely terrified of the little metal thing that you step on to measure your foot. So trying to get a picture of it was NOT going to happen. But, the measuring process, albeit stressful, was helpful nonetheless…
So, once we got her measured, we set off to try on some shoes!
Lilly was pretty pleased with herself as we tried on shoe after shoe. That face, though.
And then she got bored antsy adventurous and decided to roam the aisles in some snazzy pink boots.
After chasing her around the store trying on 15 different pairs of shoes, we finally settled on the Sketchers Little Lights. I will be honest, I never thought I’d be the mom who buys her kid a pair of shoes that light up… but when she saw her shoes light up, her eyes got HUGE and she said, “OH WHOAAAAAAAAAAA!” and was totally mesmerized and it was the cutest thing ever and I said, “Sold.”
And then I had to have her model them for you… Just a girl with her shoes, her paci, and her purse. She loves carrying that purse around. It is hillllllarious.
I can’t even. I am unable to even.
So excited!!
She’s a newer walker so we still fall a lot…
More falling…
But when we fall… we laugh…
Then she wanted to get into our backyard to get to our dogs…
And then this happened and I couldn’t stop laughing. Yes, that is my dog Tater JUMPING behind the fence to try and see out… hahaha she can jump CRAZY high.
The cutest.
I think it’s safe to say she loves her new shoes.
What about you? Do you have any kids? Have you shopped at Rack Room Shoes for kids shoes before?

Very cute! My kids also hated wearing shoes at first; my ‘adorable’ pics of them having their first shoes fitted show them balling their eyes out 😉
She is just too cute! We bought some Stride Rite shoes and Seth loves them!
aww she looks so cute- great shots. Rachel xo

She is the cutest! And I totally feel ya on the light up shoes. I said I wouldn’t buy them. But then my son was soooo excited I couldn’t say no 😉
She is the cutest! Kyle hated the metal thingy when we took him for his first shoes too! Must be a one year old thing!
