I love being able to use something multiple ways. Even if it’s just changing up one SMALL detail about a clothing item, a bag, an accessory, etc… using it in more ways than just one is my idea of getting your moneys worth!

I love the beautiful wax fabrics that are made in Africa – you just don’t see fabrics like that here in the US. Every time I’ve gone to Kenya, I always hit up the markets and buy fabric to take home with me for various and sundry purposes. I miss being able to get those fabrics and beautiful items made with them here in the states!

That’s yet another reason why I love The Mighty River Project. The handmade woven baskets, magazine bead jewelry, and STUNNING wax fabric textiles all made in Uganda are so amazing, unique, and provide such an amazing living for the women who make them.

I absolutely LOVE their market totes and bags and use them all the time. I wanted to show you guys one simple trick you can do to your market tote to use it in TWO different ways  –  First: as a purse! Just tie it up and boom… you have a shoulder bag that’s beautiful, stylish, and unique – not to mention FUNCTIONAL! Second: as a market tote… you know, shopping at the farmer’s market, grocery store, or even going to class… you can throw this back over your shoulder and head out the door.

As a purse – just tie a knot at the top of the long strap to shorten the length… and boom… you have a chic purse!

Second: as a market tote! Untie the knot and throw the bag over your shoulder… simple and easy!

This bag also has a zipper pocket on the outside of the bag in addition to smaller pockets on the inside. Perfect for holding your keys, lip gloss, cell phone, etc.

See? Super simple and cute (you know, and functional, too!)!
