DIY Foaming Hand Soap

I debated whether or not to share this recipe because I certainly am not the one to come up with it (you can find a bajillion different versions all around the internet) and I’m also not the first person to make her own foaming hand soap… but, I mentioned on social media a few weeks ago making another batch, and I had a lot of y’all ask me for the “recipe.”

Making your own hand soap is EASILY one of the easiest things you can do to start the process of getting rid of toxins in your home and using something that’s safe, natural, and effective! Plus, it’s cheaper and saves you money! Win. Win. Win. 🙂

DIY Foaming Hand Soap

INGREDIENTS:

• Liquid Castile Soap
• Distilled or tap water (I use tap water)
• 10 drops of your essential oil of choice (I get my essential oils here)
  • I like to use Thieves and Lemon because they smell AWESOME and keep the germs away! 🙂
• Foaming pump bottle

DIRECTIONS:

In your aluminum or glass bottle (remember, DO NOT use plastic), fill it about 1/4 of the way with liquid castile soap. I did not give a specific amount because it depends on the size of your soap dispenser… but 1/4 of the way full is about right.

Then, add in your desired essential oils. I used Thieves and Lemon, but Lavender and Peppermint, Melaleuca (Tea Tree) and Geranium would be awesome… or really any combination that you desire!

Then, fill the rest of your soap container with water. Fill it up slowly because it will overflow quickly.

That’s it! 🙂 THAT easy! It literally takes less than one minute to do and you have something natural and non-toxic for you to wash your hands with.
