July Stitch Fix Review & Link Up
Is it me or have the months gone by EXTREMELY fast this summer? I can’t believe we are almost halfway through JULY. What in the WHAT?! Crazy!
Anyway, I received my July Stitch Fix fix last week and it was another GREAT one! My stylist, Kimberly J., is really taking my feedback and also pushing me outside of my comfort zone and getting me to try new styles. Which I LOVE. Not everything is a hit, BUT, what it’s doing is telling me even more what I like, what I don’t like, the kinds of styles that flatter me, the kind of cuts and fits work for me, etc.
This month, I requested some basic layering pieces (I have been on the hunt for some good mix-and-match basics), and also some light and flowy pieces. Check out what I got this month, see what I thought, and ultimately, what I kept! 🙂
Papermoon “Remmie Geo Print Maxi Skirt” – Size XL – $58
I really liked this maxi skirt a lot. It’s a gorgeous print (photo doesn’t do the color justice), and it’s very lightweight and stretchy and flowy. I had it hiked up VERY high on my waist because it was really long. And, sadly, while I really did like the skirt, I didn’t LOVE it enough to warrant keeping it. I am being conscious with my spending right now and only purchasing things I know I could love and wear many different ways. While the skirt is gorgeous, it just didn’t fit into that category.
Verdict: Return
Loveappella “Denison Fringe Trim Knit Tank” – Size XL – $54
I was not crazy about this tank out of the box… the material is SUPER soft, and I do love the fringe detailing, but the tie-dye print just didn’t feel like me. When I put it on, I felt like I was SWIMMING in it. I don’t know if it was just meant to fit like that, or what… but it was just huge. Looking at the pictures, it doesn’t look AS huge as it felt on… but still huge nonetheless.
I loved what my stylist was trying to get me to try… but in the end, this top was just a no go.
Verdict: Return
Mavi “Ruxin Distressed Paint Splattered Boyfriend Jean” – Size 14 – $98
I. Love. These. Jeans. Yes, they’re $98. Yes, they’re $98 for a pair of jeans that’s already been distressed and paint splattered. And I don’t. even. care. They’re SO soft (I have another pair of Mavi jeans from a previous fix that I ADORE – Mavi jeans really do feel like butter). I’ve been wanting to add more distressed denim in my wardrobe. I love boyfriend jeans.
They are long, but that’s nothing a pair of scissors can’t fix. 🙂 Plus, I’ll wear them cuffed. I’ve already worn them almost every day since I got them. These jeans are really amazing. I know I’ll be wearing them a ton!
Verdict: Keep!
Pixley “Vyner Fringe Top” – Size XL – $64
I wanted so badly to love this top. I loved it out of the box. Excuse the wrinkles… no time to iron or steam. I really loved it, but when I put it on, something just didn’t feel right. It just didn’t completely feel like me. I can’t put my finger on why or what it was… but it just wasn’t me.
So, back it went.
Verdict: Return
Market & Spruce “Sam Hi-Lo Short Sleeve Tee” – Size XL – $44
Okay. Okay. Okay. $44 for a gray t-shirt. I know. BUT. You guys. This shirt, is like… heaven in a t-shirt. It’s a VERY lightweight and stretchy material that is impossible to describe. It’s almost got threads that feel like sweatshirt or sweater material… BUT, it’s very thin and breathable. See? I told you it was impossible to describe. I’ve NEVER felt a top like it.
The moment I put this top on, I was like YES! THIS! ALL OF THIS! It’s just the ideal layering piece. Versatile. Will go with anything. I love the hi-lo detail. I love how stretchy and lightweight it is. It’s just phenomenal.
I have also worn this shirt A LOT since I got it and I am so. glad. I kept it!
Verdict: Keep!
So there you have it! I kept 2 of 5 items this month, but I really did love a few more of them… the 2 I kept were just the ones I felt I would wear the most. I am SO loving my Stitch Fix still! It’s like Christmas every month when that box shows up on my doorstep. CHRISTMAS IN JULY!
What about you? What have you gotten in your Stitch Fix fix lately?
*This is not a sponsored post. I receive my Stitch Fix fixes on a monthly basis because I choose to and I love the service so much. You blog totally pushed me over the try stitch fix line. I did a search for stitch fix xl bc I wanted to see how they did with people who weren’t supper tiny (nothing wrong with being tiny I’m just not). I looked at most of your fixes, pinned a few, added you to my feed, and signed up. Thank you for you posts and for sharing your size. I know its a little thing but It really helps to know its worked for someone out there.
I do not do the Stitch Fix, but how fun to get pieces in the mail to try before you buy them. I think you made 2 great choices! I also loved the tie dye tank, but it did look a little too big.

I got the Sami Hi-Lo top about two months ago and I adore it!! Versatile is the perfect word, I’ve worn it a lot already in two months. And I felt the same way as you, am I really spending $44 on a grey tshirt, but I couldn’t part with it. Also I’ve been washing it by hand and laying flat to dry, I have concerns about putting it in the wash.
The jeans and tee you kept look PERFECT on you–pricey, yes, but so worth it–both pieces you’ll wear again and again no doubt.
I love your Stitch Fix reviews and you are one of the reasons I decided to try Stitch Fix (my review is coming up on Thursday, yay!). I love the details you give about the items and why you decide to keep or return it–as someone who has been thinking about trying Stitch Fix for a LONG time, I really appreciate that. And you’re so right about it–it was like Christmas in July!! Can’t wait to sign up for my next Fix.
Anyway, thanks Molly!
high/low is like my favorite thing, and those jeans look great on you. thanks for hosting!

Love the shade of those jeans. And if you find a tee that you love that fits right, just get it. There’s nothing better than a great fitting tee.
I think the best thing about Stitch Fix is the opportunity to try items you would never try on your own. It pushes you out of the old comfort zone! I love that! I get a lot of great ideas for my own Fixes from your posts – so thanks! I want to try the Mavi jeans too! You kept great classic pieces! I keep everything that is soft too(: Susan
I still haven’t tried stitch fix, because I’m afraid that I’ll keep everything! BF jeans are so great- I would have kept them too!

Molly what a lovely start to the week to come to the link up and find my gingham dress featured – thank you so much!!
I think I guessed right with your choices yet again, though it was a shame the fringe trim tank was so large as I loved the style/colour on you. Plus the jeans are fantastic, loved them!! Thank you for hosting sweetie – have a great week 🙂

Those jeans are a great fit on you, and if you feel like you’ll wear them a lot then the price isn’t so bad (I’ve paid more!). Thanks for hosting x
Hah. I know exactly what you mean by “And I don’t. even. care.” Feeling the same way about the pair of Goldsign Distressed Boyfriends I’ve gotten myself. They too are super soft and just a dream to wear. Plus these look great on you.
