I don’t know what it is, (well, actually I guess I do…) but once September 1st hits… everyone LOSES THEIR MINDS and decides it’s 40 degrees cooler than it actually is and it’s time to bust out all the flannel and pumpkin everything.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I LOVE fall. Fall is probably my favorite season – especially fall in Durham / Chapel Hill. It’s the BEST season of the year… but no really… ESPECIALLY here.
However, as much as I love fall and as much as I love fall here… it is DEFINITELY not actually fallish in this area until late September / early October. It’s still over 90 degrees every day… so full on flannel and scarves and boots just ain’t happening.
BUT, that’s what the FAUX transition to fall is all about with pieces like a flannel TEE! YES!!
You know, because the t-shirt LOOKS flannel, but isn’t actually flannel and BOOM… you’re in faux fall mode in the south… with the addition of one t-shirt to your wardrobe.
And do I still plan to wear white after Labor Day? You bet your boots, I do!
What about you? Do you love the transition to fall? How do you “faux” transition?
I totally hear you! I want to be rocking the flannels, jeans, and ankle boots, but it’s going to be 90 tomorrow… so no such luck!

I’m so glad someone else still wears white after Labor Day! Especially in the South, when it doesn’t get cold until December 🙂 Loving that top and of course, the best earrings ever!
Yes!! I love this! I am a huge lover of fall, but eastern NC just isn’t cool enough yet for scarves and flannel and all that… I wish it was colder right now!
Love love that tee!! Stitch Fix has been hitting it out of the park for me lately too! It has been in the 90s here in Ohio all week too! I love it! Enjoy your week! Susan
