I would be lying to you if I said that dressing a girl isn’t fun… because, it is SO FUN. And Lilly is also at the age where she LOVES playing dress up and she even loves helping to pick out her clothes. She loves to get dressed and say, “Wook at me, mommy! I so fancy! I so bootiful in my dress!” It’s the best. However, I will admit, that finding kids clothes that are not only cool, but also sustainably made is a MAJOR challenge! I get 95% of Lilly’s clothes as hand-me-downs from friends or on consignment, but there are some times when I just like to get her something nice that I know she can wear for awhile.

Meet Sailor Janes.

I was recently introduced to Sailor Janes, an online kids fashion boutique with super trendy pieces for kids! Bonus? Almost ALL of the brands they carry are sustainably and ethically made! YES! Not to mention, the clothes are seriously adorable!  I saw this navy maritime striped dress by the brand POPUPSHOP and loved it. It’s also the perfect dress that will last her awhile! I can forsee this dress fitting her for AT LEAST two years. It’s a little long now, but works great with a jacket and tights… and then it will work next year and the year after as more of a tunic or long shirt with leggings! It’s also a great “base” dress to layer with sweaters, jackets, etc.

I mean, how cute is she? Right? Right. I know. I’m well aware. 🙂

I’m fairly certain this was the point at which she spied the playground over yonder and was totally done with the photoshoot.
