Finding Our Fun
*Huge thank you to Crocs for partnering with me on this post! We had so much fun with this and I absolutely can’t say enough great things about the brand, the shoes, and the FUN! All content and opinions are 100% my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that help support me and my family!
I’ll be the first one to admit that I don’t love the fact that we live in a society where we wear the word “busy” like a badge of honor. “I’m so busy!” “Everything is busy!” “I’m staying busy!” Busy can be good, but “busy” can also be bad… because it means other things are taking precious time away from living our LIVES and enjoying our friends and our families. A LOT has been happening in our family in the last year. Some big changes (GOOD changes!) in our vocational lives, the addition of another human being (oh hey, Amos!), and just general life stuff, have all kept us very, well… busy. John and I have been very cognizant of that and we’re trying to do everything we can to be intentional with our time and focused and purposeful so that we don’t waste any unnecessary time away from spending time together as family.
This week, my family and I are at the beach on a little vacation and I have been looking forward to this trip for MONTHS. Lilly has been talking about it and we have been ticking off the days on the calendar waiting for the trip to get here. John took a little over half of the week off work so we could all just relax and hang out and enjoy each other’s company!
It’s been so nice to just wake up and not have an agenda each day… just have breakfast, head out to the beach, eat lunch, take a nap, grab dinner, catch fish, catch crabs in the crab pot, watch boats go by, etc. etc. etc. It’s also AWESOME that this beach week falls over Father’s Day weekend! It gives me just an extra opportunity to honor John and THANK HIM for all that he has done for our family.
He seriously is one of the hardest working people I’ve ever met in my life. His work ethic is unmatched. No joke. I am constantly impressed at his ability to get up, go to the gym early, work hard all day, and come home and just be the best partner and support system I could ever ask for. He’s an amazing dad and he loves his kids so much! I love watching him with them.
It’s been really fun getting to see him (and his parents) relax a bit at the beach this week and just play with the kids. (Don’t worry, I’m there, too! :)) PS: I really think Lilly could play in the sand for like 12 hours straight and never get tired of it! I think she’d fall asleep before she quit on her own… haha! 🙂
Well, last night after our fun beach day and EPIC afternoon naps, we all got showered up and dressed up and headed out to dinner and then just spent some time walking around and enjoying the scenery.
These two… my goodness. <3

Speaking of walking around… we have LOVED wearing our Crocs this trip. They are the PERFECT summer shoe because you can go from the beach to dinner in them and they’re so comfortable. SO comfortable. And I mean, how cute are they?!
Love these sweet kiddos.
Post-dinner ice cream. Lilly was a big fan. She got “Birthday Cake” flavor and it was a hit.
Lilly has been obsessed with finding shells this whole trip!
How gorgeous are these old homes? Love Southport! #housegoals
Anyway, we have had a great time and we have loved being able to celebrate the daddies in our lives while enjoying some fun family time.

I have loved wearing Crocs at the beach! Yours are so cute, I will have to look at that style! Great post, Molly.
Great shoes (and awesome vacation)! I lived in crocs sandals when I was pregnant last summer. I was late to the crocs trend because I wasn’t a fan of the clogs – but they have so many fun and affordable sandals now!
