Love41 | #FashionForGood Friday

Love41 is basically brand new on my list of ethical fashion companies. Not that they are brand new as a company, but they are relatively new to me in that I just learned about them in the last month or so!

In short, Love41 is a fashion for good company that sells leather goods like bags, goods, jewelry, and accessories that all benefit communities in Rwanda that were affected by the horrendous genocide they experienced in the 90s.

That might be the short of it, but in reality, Love41 is a company that is so much more than that.

When Suzette Munson, founder of Love41, first visited Rwanda in 2010, nothing prepared her for the absolute devastation she saw and experienced… which was even years after the genocide was over. She saw children sniffing glue to dull the pains of hunger, she saw women forced into prostitution to provide for their families, she saw countless others suffering from PTSD.

The entire time she was in Rwanda, she felt a pull and a tug at her heart that was telling her to DO SOMETHING to benefit these people.

When she returned home, she asked her sister, Tina, (who works for Saddleback Leather) to come alongside her to start Love41.

100% of Love41’s profits are given away to nonprofits that DIRECTLY benefit communities in Rwanda. Children and families are being restored, fed, cared for, and provided for.

Love41 is making a huge impact and creating a culture of love and kindness in a place that has seen so much hurt and desolation.
