Ornaments 4 Orphans – Christmas Decor for Good (& a Giveaway!!)
I realize I pretty much say this all the time, but man… I LOVE the company I am sharing with you guys today!!!! It’s almost December (whaaaaaaat?!) and Christmas season and the holidays are in FULL SWING. I’ve been listening to the Pentatonix Christmas album on repeat (Lilly is a big fan), our tree is up, I hung lights, and I’m counting down the days until Christmas.
This really is my FAVORITE time of year!!!!!
One thing a lot of us don’t think about (heck, I know I didn’t until like… last year!) is where and how our Christmas decorations are made. This is something that I learned about last year that was a HUGE wake up call for me. Did you know that 60% of the world’s decorations are made in a town in China that’s basically called “Christmas town”? The workers are barely paid, they work crazy hours, they’re in awful conditions, and most of them don’t even know what Christmas is.
When I learned this… my heart sunk. And I realized that this was something I was going to try to do something about, at least in my own circle… and that just starts with not buying from those companies and, instead, supporting companies that are treating workers fairly and with kindness.
Enter Ornaments 4 Orphans.
I found this awesome company on Instagram last year and fell in LOVE with them!! Well, the more I’ve gotten to know them, the more I admire what they are doing!! SO much so that I had their co-founder on my podcast this week!!!!!

From O4O:
It is estimated that there are over 150 million orphans worldwide. These children are at risk for trafficking, exploitation, abuse, starvation and psychological disorders. In addition to these orphans, millions of children are in danger of abandonment, disease, malnutrition and lack of education due to extreme poverty.
Ornaments4Orphans exists to bless these children by connecting their needs with our Christmas traditions. Ornaments4Orphans sells beautiful, fair trade items handcrafted in impoverished communities, then uses the proceeds to enrich the lives of orphans and vulnerable
children.Ornaments4Orphans also strives to combat the global orphan crisis through orphan prevention. Local artisans employed by Ornaments4Orphans experience a reliable income which enables them to provide for their families. They are able to make rent, put food on their tables, pay their children’s school fees, and purchase medications and other necessities which improve their overall standard of living.

Without question, the paper bead heart. I’m not a big heart person but that one jumps out each time I see it.

This is very cool! I’ve never thought about where Christmas ornaments come from, but it’ll be hard not to from now on. My husband and I buy a fair trade ornament every year, so I’m really happy to have learned about this company!
And I love the stuffed lion ornament. So fun!
Such an amazing opportunity to help such an important cause! Thanks for sharing Molly, I am going to order mine today!
That’s disheartening. The more I learn about what we consume, the more overwhelmed I am. I’m taking small steps, but it’s tricky – more mental space us taken up and costs are higher. I get it. I love the angel ornament. I found your blog through Elegantees. I’m on the board for a non-profit store that sells ethically sourced goods, including a few things from Elegantees, so it’s fun to see so many other brands here. A big help!
