I Get Sentimental About Baby Clothes (& Link-Up)
This post is sponsored by Carter’s; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.
Since Amos turned a year old, I have been getting really sentimental about everything lately. I feel like moreso than usual… his first year just FLEW… even faster than Lilly’s first year. Well, at least to me.
And as I look back on pictures of Lilly’s first year and Amos’s first year and as I think about the weeks and months to come, I always seem to have this strange sentimental attachment and feeling with my baby’s clothes. Am I the only one like this?
For example, I’ll look at a picture of Lilly as a baby and think, “Gosh, she was so sweet in that little dress!” or I’ll look at a picture of Amos and think, “I loved taking him on his first airplane ride and I remember him in that outfit!”
I guess it’s kind of like how we associate certain smells with memories… I feel like with kids a lot of memories are tied in what our kids wore.
Lilly is now at the age where she’s really (really) opinionated about what she wears (in fact, she gets herself dressed almost every day). Amos is like “Whatevs!” 🙂 Regardless, I love shopping for my kids and I love picking out outfits for certain occasions, events, or even just everyday life.
Carter’s has always been one of my favorite places to get baby clothes and kid’s shoes for my kiddos. They’re made really well (they withstand A LOT of playing), they are adorable, super comfortable, and also affordable! With kid’s clothes it can be hard because they outgrow clothes so quickly, so it’s important to be smart when shopping for your kids!
I mean, how cute does Amos look in this outfit?
Lilly actually picked out this dress herself! I took her to the Carter’s site and let her pick out which dress she wanted and this was it… she loved the “pretty part” (aka: the crochet-eyelet part at the top). Also, all Lilly wants to wear these days are dresses.
I had to show you guys these outtakes because #reallife.
We went to this place near our house where you can feed goats and ducks and fish and Lilly and Amos were rocking their Carter’s outfits! They’re so stinkin’ cute I can’t handle them… 🙂
Lilly squeezing his head… I realize I shouldn’t laugh, but I can’t help it.
We love Carter’s jammies, shirts, and playsuits! I get so teary eyed every time I put away clothes he has grown out of. PLEASE tell me I’m not the only one!
The Carter’s February baby sale is happening right now and has a bunch of awesome deals going on… PLUS, you can use the code “CARIFFEB” from now until March 6th for 20% off your purchase of $40 or more from Carter’s (valid both in-store AND online!)
Now what about you? Are you sentimental about your kid’s clothes? Do you have “that outfit” that you can’t get rid of because it means too much to you (even though your kid has long outgrown it)? Do you also love Carter’s?
Now, one more thing. Carly and I are teaming up to do more than host our link up. We are teaming up to share brands that we love… especially brands that give back.
Here are some of our favorite posts from last week!

I feel the same way about clothes!! My oldest was a premie and I just had to keep a few of her premie outfits. I look at them every year around her birthday and I still can’t believe she was once that tiny!! She’s almost 3 now!
I get SO sentimental over my daughter’s clothes. I’ve recently given some of her recently outgrown clothes away, but the baby clothes are hard to part with. I keep the clothes that have particularly special memories. My daughter has my hoarding instincts and wants to keep everything for when she has a child (she’s only seven!) which drives my husband nuts!

Oh me too, Molly, all the time. Even now that Eve is turning 18 in May LOL it doesn’t lessen with time, my friend 🙂
I am the same way about our kids’ clothes. I can still remember who gave us certain outfits, too!
Amazing shots! I get super sentimental about my Kiddies baby clothes. I still have certain pieces I just can’t let go of (even from my 20 yr old). Thanks for sharing these awesome moments with us…your babies are adorable!
What adorable pictures! Such a cute family 🙂

Lil Amos! That three toothed smile killed me! Both of your kids stay fresh! Also, I need Lilly’s dress in adult size. haha.
How cute are they?! Natural models. I am not sentimental about clothes. I enjoy them when my little wears them and snap pics to capture and remember the moments. If its aomething I deem extra special I will save for a family member. I love to bless some one and giveaway and donate the clothes.
Amos n Lily are so stinkin’ adorable. The outtakes are hilarious! I get sentimental over my own clothes, so I could imagine baby clothes having the same affect.
Such cute pictures! I love baby clothes!
I love that little dress she is wearing. It’s super cute 🙂

I can’t get over the cuteness! Lilly and Amos are beyond adorable. I can only imagine when I have a child one day, I probably will have the same sentiments about their little clothes.
These pics adorable! I don’t have any of the clothes my kids wore when they were little. They are older almost 17 & 22 both boys;) However I still am touched by the scrapbook pics I have of them.
So cute! I don’t even have kids and love baby clothes, which might be weird. Your kids are adorable, I love seeing their little personalities!
Love these pictures and the out takes are so cute.

Molly, you are definitely not the only who gets sentimental over baby clothes! I get sentimental over my own clothes, so of course, the adorable things my children have worn for special occasions tug hard at my heart strings. Some outfits I have kept in a keepsake bin for each them. Other things I have forced myself to part with…like really forced (with tears in my eyes)!
