John’s Second Stitch Fix for Men Review & Stitch Fix Giveaway

You may remember that back in October I shared John’s first Stitch Fix for men review. He loved it (even though he only kept one item), but he kept talking about how Stitch Fix for men was really perfect for someone like him…

You see, John is the kind of guy that only goes shopping every once in a blue moon and he wears his clothes until they’re worn to the bone (or out of style! haha!). He also really doesn’t like shopping… at all. So someone else picking out clothes for him, sending them to his doorstep, and getting to try them on at home is PERFECT for him.

He also, because of the way he shops, is okay spending a little more on nicer pieces since he knows that he will wear them forever.

Anyway, John was in pretty desperate need for a new pair of jeans and some casual summer shirts. So, we requested another fix for him and requested the same stylist, Alyssa, that he had the last time. Requests this time were for a pair of relaxed fit or bootcut fit jeans in a classic blue jean wash (or a lighter wash), casual spring or summer shirts, and as many ethical, made in the USA, or fair trade brands as possible. Alyssa knocked his fix out of the park!

We thought it would be fun to share John’s Stitch Fix for men review with you guys since so many of you who are Stitch Fix fans might have brothers, husbands, dads, boyfriends, etc. who are interested in trying Stitch Fix and might want to see how it works!

How does Stitch Fix for men work? 

It works JUST like Stitch Fix for women!

1. Simply have your guy (or I guess you could do it for him) visit StitchFix.com and fill out a style profile. And BE SPECIFIC!!
2. Schedule a “Fix” and a stylist will hand-select FIVE pieces raging from pants, to shirts, to shoes, to accessories that the stylist thinks will work for him.
3. A $20 styling fee is charged, but if you keep anything from the fix, that $20 fee is credited towards your fix.
4. Wait and receive your fix on your doorstep. Try everything on and keep what you like and send back what you don’t. Shipping is free both ways!

Flag & Anthem – “Wallace One Pocket Shirt” – Size XL – $54.50

From John (yes, this is his comment):

“I’ve never had a button up short-sleeved shirt, except for the shirt that I wore for my Forrest Gump costume in Fall of 2010. I’ve always associated short-sleeved button up shirts with rotund preachers wearing a short-sleeved dress shirt with a tie at church. You still won’t catch me wearing a short-sleeved dress shirt, but this is casual, I like the way it fits, it kind of makes my arms look big, so I like it.”

Verdict: Keep

Big Star “Union Relaxed Fit Jean” – Size 34 – $98

From John:

“At first I was disappointed that they don’t have ANY jeans that are bootcut, so at first I wasn’t very excited about these. But after putting them on, they’re super comfortable, they’re pretty much male jeggings… and they’re the color that I like. I’ll defer to the wife on this one, she likes them, sign me up.” 

Verdict: Keep

Fairline “24/7 Shirt” – Size XL – $68

From John: 

“I love a good long sleeve dress shirt, especially when it can be worn casually or in a more formal situation. Easy sell.”

(Note from Molly: He is currently wearing this shirt as I type this and it is super hot. So yeah, he kept it.)

Verdict: Keep

Original Penguin – “Daddy-O Solid Polo” – Size XL – $55

From John:

“I have plenty of polo shirts, however none are as good quality as this one. It’s comfortable. I like it. I think I’ll keep it.”

Verdict: Keep

Threads 4 Thought – “Baseline Triblend Crew Tee” – Size XL – $28

From John:

“I have lots of Threads 4 Thought shirts, but they are all long-sleeved. I do like all of them… I would not have thought that I would have needed another t-shirt, but this is real comfortable and it just fits well… I thought it was grey, in fact I was 100% convinced it was grey… Molly told me it was blue grey… I assumed she was taking crazy pills… then I looked at it in better light… turns out it’s blue grey. I love her and I will keep it.”

Verdict: Keep

John’s overall thoughts on his second Stitch Fix for men:

“If you had told me that some chick I didn’t know would send me five articles of clothing in the mail and that I would pay more than I normally pay for clothes in order to keep all five articles, I would have recommended your committal to an asylum. However, when I put each piece on, I noted Molly undressing me with her eyes. So I kept all five.”

My husband, ladies and… ladies. Okay, maybe a few gents.
