Casual Saturday Fashion & A Weekly Round Up
[Outfit Deets: Green Polo: Lacoste (super old), Denim Skirt: Banana Republic (super old), Belt: JCrew Outlet (super old), Flip Flops: Rainbows… SUPER OLD, Pearls: ????? no idea… that’s how old they are, Bangles: Forever 21 (the only newish thing I’m wearing)]
You guys, everything I’m wearing (minus the bangles) is at least five years old. AT LEAST. Sometimes I love having those pieces in my closet that are classic staples and I’ll NEVER get rid of them. Or at least not any time soon.
I wore this to work one day this week, but the casual feel of it and classic nature I thought was perfect for a “Casual Saturday” outfit.
Also, I’m gonna be real with you for a second: I. Love. Rainbows. The flip-flops, not the weather. Well, I love those too, but I’m talking flip flops here. I have three pairs of rainbows: brown, black, and white – they’re all 7-10+ years old and I love them. They’re perfectly broken in and they make me feel like summer. There are days when heels or cute sandals just won’t cut it – it’s all about the Rainbows.
For reals.
Sometimes I feel like my Rainbows are my shoe best friend. When I think about all the places I’ve worn those babies… MAN have they seen me grow.
am i seriously getting nostalgic over flip-flops right now?
ANYWAY. Moving on.
Do you have a pair of shoes you just love or any pieces of clothing you just won’t part with?

confession: you make me wanna be a southern gal! I love your preppy looks 🙂 I can never pull them off so well.
awww thanks, beth! i can dub you an honorary southern gal if you want 🙂 🙂 you could TOTALLY pull off a preppy look!!!
I wore rainbows everyday in high school and they were still in mint condition by the time I graduated. I am pretty sure that those flip flops are invincible!
yeah seriously for real! rainbows are indestructible. i LOVE THEM!!!
Oh, I have TONS of clothes I’ve had for years. I have a pair of jeans I bought in Korea 10 years ago that are so unique that I can’t bring myself to get rid of them. I also have 2 pairs of designer jeans that are 10 years old each (I think part of the reason they’ve lasted is that they were designer and well made!) that are in classic cuts so I have no reason to get rid of them. One pair I actually wore on my second date with my hubby and I have a teeny hole in the knee from where I fell (yes, fell) in the parking lot as we were walking to his car. I think I’ll have those jeans forever!
i’m so glad that i’m not the only one!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 and that is so sweet you have such a great memory attached to those jeans!
I forgot about that belt! I have it, and love it!
