I’m trying to get back into somewhat of a regular work routine and trying to get back into “normal” blogging content. It’s hard, but I’m going to do my best. Plus, writing and sharing and just doing what I enjoy does help to get me out of a funk. You know? Does anyone else feel like this?
I also shared some thought on Instagram yesterday… and I thought it would be good to share them here while I am at it.
Do you ever look at a picture of yourself and you think of all the things “behind” the image? How you were feeling that day? Or what was going on in your life? The weather? The situation? What happened that morning or before or after the picture was taken?
Every time I look at an image from the shoot for my spring / summer lookbook, I can’t help but think about all those things now. I was about 8 weeks pregnant at the time with our surprise pregnancy and I was already showing. I was nauseous as all get out. I was exhausted. I was trying so hard to distract myself, but there was just SO MUCH GOING ON.
And while there’s a tinge of sadness for me now when I look at these, I also am glad I have all these images. Yes, it was for my job, technically… but the point remains. The images mark an important time in my life. It was a moment in my life I’ll think about forever.
I keep talking about the importance of images lately… but I just feel so passionate about it lately because I know firsthand the meaning a single image can have.
Take the picture. Make the memory. Capture it. Don’t overthink it. Just do it.
Now, with regards to the outfit… this has been one of my favorite dresses to wear this spring and summer. It’s really comfortable and easy and quick and I feel dressed up wearing it (even though it almost feels like pajamas!) Plus, if you don’t like the cold shoulder trend, you can wear it as a tank dress.
Anyway, I just want to thank you for being such an incredibly supportive and encouraging community. I love you and I am so grateful for you!
Look beautiful in this outfit.
