Lilly is FIVE + Her Annual 50-Question Birthday Interview
Lilly turned FIVE this weekend. I cannot believe that she is five. I realize I say this every year and that time still continues to go by and yet, here we are. I feel like it was literally yesterday that I wrote a letter to my overdue baby, and then she was born, and then she turned one, then two, then three, then four, and now she is FIVE.
She has grown up so much in the past year and has become such an incredible young lady. We just adore her. She is so creative and vivacious, but reserved and shy. She has a HUGE personality, but saves it for just a few people. She loves music and dancing and singing and gymnastics. She loves to draw and color and paint. She is fascinated by science and the earth and the world around her. She loves Jesus so much and her love for Him shines in all that she does.
She’s learned a lot this year about life… about death through the death of her baby brothers Elijah and Malachi… she’s learned about friendship… she’s learned about disappointment… trying something and not giving up (she tried soccer last fall and ended up not really liking it… but we made her keep with it through the end of the season and we are so glad she did!).
We decided to not send her to Kindergarten this year not because we don’t think she’s ready, but because we know another year of pre-K will only further prepare her for school. We know that extra year of preparation and chance to emotionally mature will have such an impact on her long term. We are excited for the year ahead!
We are so grateful for this little girl and we love her so so so so so much.
I’ve got her annual birthday interview (this is the 3rd year we’ve done this!) and enjoy her answers (some are the same as last year and some have changed!!)
