A Newbie’s Guide to the Cricut Explore Air 2 | Product Review
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Cricut. The opinions and text are all mine.
I wouldn’t call myself “crafty.” I CAN be crafty if I need to be, but innately I am not crafty. Now, that’s not to say that I don’t like to be crafty. If I need to be, I can craft with the best of them. I was in a sorority in college and, let me tell you, I WAS CRAFTY. When I was getting married and planning my own wedding on a shoestring budget, I WAS CRAFTY. When I was pregnant with Lilly and had actual time on my hands, I WAS CRAFTY. There’s something super satisfying about making something, looking lovingly at your completed project and saying, “I DID THAT.”
So, needless to say, I have wanted a Cricut for quite some time. I love seeing all the AMAZING creations that people make with a Cricut – but I was, to be honest, a bit intimidated. I have never used one before and I was afraid I was going to get one and then have zero clue what I was doing and then I’d sit there and stare at my screen and go, “Well, what now?”
When I got the chance to try out the new Cricut Explore Air 2, I said, “YES!! LET’S DO THIS THING.” Because, I figured, if I can figure out how to use one… anyone can. I’ve got a few blog posts coming for you with my review of the Cricut Explore Air 2 and Easy Press 2… and it’s all coming from the perspective of a newbie who is figuring out what she’s doing as she goes.
I know, I know. You can find TONS of content on the internet of people using a Cricut and Easy Press. I know, because I’ve searched for it. But there’s not MUCH content out there written from the perspective of someone who hasn’t ever used one before but wants to learn how! This is the camp I fall into. And this post is for anyone like me… you want to try a Cricut but you aren’t sure if you can do it… spoiler alert: you can. You are welcome.
HERE WE ARE – we got the Cricut Explore Air 2 and I chose the mint color because, why wouldn’t I? What I loved MOST when I got it and opened it up is it has ALL the directions right there in simple, easy to read note cards. It quite literally walks you through the setup of your Cricut one step at a time.
Even the Cricut design space software walks you through the setup process step by step and even gives you materials to create a sample product. My sample project was a little “Enjoy” notecard! It was so fun to walk through the process and see just a smidgen of what the Cricut can do. It was so easy!
Needless to say, I’m really excited to continue to explore all the functionalities / capabilities / features of the Cricut… but after just starting to use it, I can definitely say that anyone can use it! It does take some time to learn, but I’m excited to practice and share my progress with you.
