My sweet mother-in-law sent me this lace maternity shirt as a gift for Easter and it totally made my week. I absolutely love it! (I may or may not have worn it three days in a row). I feel so trendy in it! 🙂

Then on Monday, when I went out to grab lunch, a totally random stranger tapped me on the shoulder and said, “You look beautiful today!” That little compliment totally caught me off guard and turned my day completely around.

And it’s the little things like the gift from my MIL and the compliment from a stranger that was a quiet, yet much needed reminder, of the blessings in life.

If we choose to pay attention and open our eyes, we can receive countless gifts on a daily basis. The gift of a smile from a stranger, the gift of a gorgeous day, the gift of having all the punches on your frequent bagel card punched so that means you get a free bagel (No? Just me with the bagel card?).

There are so many things that can totally turn our days around if we choose to let them.

But, it also got me to thinking, “How often do I give gifts or bless others?” How often do I compliment a stranger? Or send someone something because I’m thinking of them? Or shoot an email to an old friend just saying hi?

Sure, I try to do those things as much as I can, but if I’m being honest, I could do more.

So, I’ve challenged myself this week (and moving forward) to do more. To bless others. As much as I can. In even the smallest of ways, I know that it might just make a difference.

    After being pregnant, I try to always complement an expecting mom when I see one because I know we all need the encouragement! And after having small children, I like to tell other mom’s that “it’s okay” when things are going horribly in public because again, I have been there!

  3. Life is all about the Random Acts of Kindess! In fact, on my spring bucket list is to complete 5 random acts of kindess. Some of my ideas are paying for somebody’s food behind me at grocery store and writing some one a special note telling them just how much I appreciate them. Or just simply smiling at a complete stranger and tell them how nice they look! What a great day for you!

  8. First of all….look at that sweet belly!!! LOVE! And you are so right, sweet, small and unexpected gestures can really turn someone’s day around…I am challenging myself with you to do the exact thing…make somebody’s day…like they made yours!

  10. It definitely is the little things! About once a week I go through the Dunkin Donuts drive through for coffee and about twice a month I pay for the car behind me. It always makes me feel good. 🙂

  24. You DO look so pretty, pregnancy suits you well. Compliments are so easy to give and you are right, they brighten people’s day. I feel great when I think I have made someone’s day better, we should strive to do that every day!
