Gift Ideas for the Newly Engaged Couple or Bride & Groom To-Be
You may be wondering, “Uhhh Molly… you’re already married with a kid. Why are you sharing a gift guide for a newly engaged couple?”
Well, yes. I am married with a kid, but I’m in that season of life where a lot of my friends are getting engaged! And, I’ve heard from a lot of you that you are in that season as well. You just kind of hit this pocket or age bracket where your friends are getting engaged, married, or having a baby.
And, well, when your friends get engaged, you want to get them a little something to celebrate! Right? Right.
So, if you’re searching for the perfect gift or just a cavalcade of gift ideas for that newly engaged couple or that bride-to-be or groom-to-be in your life, hopefully this post is helpful!
Gift Ideas for the Newly Engaged Couple
A little gift for both him AND her:
I LOVE Welch’s sparkling grape juice. I’ve been drinking this stuff since I was little kid. We always had it for special occasions – my parents called it “special juices.” Well, this is the perfect bubbly for the couple to celebrate their engagement – and ANYONE can have a glass because it’s non-alcoholic! The raspberry limeade flavor is DELICIOUS, but the white grape flavor is a classic.
I don’t know about you, but I LOVE game night! My husband and I love playing board games and these are two of our favorites. Ticket to Ride is SUPER addicting and 2-5 players can play. And our favorite game of all time is Catch Phrase. Yes, I know it’s meant for a group to play (engagement party, anyone?) but my husband and I totally play just the two of us. We try and see how many we can get in under the time limit!
Gift Ideas for the Bride-to-Be
What bride-to-be doesn’t love some fun and colorful jewelry? Well, get your newly-engaged girlfriend some gorgeous jewelry that’s not only unique, but handmade AND fair trade (hey, that rhymes!). It’s no secret how much I LOVE The Mighty River Project and all that they do and stand for. And how gorgeous are these pieces of magazine bead jewelry?
Try something thoughtful for her wedding day! A personalized wedding hanger is SO thoughtful and will be something she can hang onto forever (pun totally intended). Or how about some GORGEOUS handmade garters in her alma mater’s colors or something like that? Perfect.
Every bride-to-be wants to feel a little sassy now and then. Am I right? A gorgeous scarf is just the perfect girly gift. Or, maybe if she’s getting married in the winter months (or heck, even in the spring and summer months) and she’s wanting to feel like she’s got that bride-to-be glow – the Lorac TANtalizer glow-to-go pack is a great idea!
I don’t know about you, but I LOVE magazines. Sure, you can get your bride-to-be friend a bunch of bridal mags (and you should)… but a year or two year subscription to her favorite beauty or fashion magazine would be AWESOME. That’s a gift that keeps on giving. I am LOVING InStyle and Redbook magazines right now.
Gift Ideas for the Groom-to-Be
Guys are tough to buy for. It’s no secret. You can’t really go wrong with a gift card. If the groom-to-be is anything like my husband, just get him one to Home Depot. If not, get him a Visa gift card so he can use it however he likes.
What dude doesn’t love a good grilled steak? Omaha Steaks are seriously SO DELICIOUS and you can order them and have them delivered to the groom’s residence. A nice grilling set is also a must for any grill master.
If the groom-to-be is conscious about maintaining his appearance, get him the Working Man’s Hygiene Kit. And, every grown man needs a good dopp kit. I love this monogrammed moustache dopp kit I found on Etsy! How fun is that?!
Great article!!! The Omaha Steaks is a good idea…in fact, my husband received that as a gift and it was fantastic! I love personalized gifts as well and the cute “his” “hers” “mr” “mrs” type of gifts. I bought several of those gifts here (http://www.zazzle.com/rusticharbor/gifts?cg=196742653656029104) for some friends and they loved them!!
Cute list! I like how you labeled the men’s kits “manly cleanup.” I love receiving games, no matter the occasion, because you can play them together for a long time, not just once, like drinking the bubbly.
so fun! Ticket to Ride is the BEST! I love giving gifts that couples will actually use, not some stuffy crystal!
xx

Love that monogrammed shaving kit for the fellas and any bride to be would love that hanger with their name. Such a cute way to personalize a gift!
